Is it illegal to sleep in your own car

Yea you have a point, but i doubt any police would be there and cause a fuss.

Well its either private land or it aint, doesn't matter how many people are on it. Down to the owners if they wanna press a charge or not. Most land owners are gonna want the old bill to nick any antisocials anyway.

If you're drunk, and the police are there on their own backs, they'll simply follow you out onto the public highway, then stop you there.

If your sober just say that your travelling, and are resting to avoid falling asleep at the wheel. The police can't do shit if you say that.

it doesn't matter where you hide the keys... take off that handbrake and you could kill someone!

.

Leave it in gear! :-D

could leave it in gear but a pissed person may release the gear too... thats my point... so I can see the coppers side of the argument.

What about when parents leave their kids in the car whilst they nip into a shop... imagine if the kid got the car rolling... must be an offence there too...

d.

I got woke up at about 6am at billing one year and told to stop sleeping in my car by one of the security people. Although I did have my tent draped over the windows to keep the sun out at the time! (Just couldn't be bothered putting it up properly late at night).

I once broke into my mk3 about 2 years ago ,sloshed out of mind as i lost my house keys. woke up slumped out of the drivers window getting dirty looks off my neighbour. Did the logical thing and cracked open my last can.

That why the boot lock didn't work? or was it the temperamental drivers door? :ninja:

I'm a pro, bootlock. No broken glass to lie on that way ;)

how about making a car shaped tent, and buying that a car park ticket, and sleeping in that, interesting to find out what the rule son camper vans and alcohol would be, but I suppose it is the drunk in charge thing. What about placing a wheel clamp on the car with a time lock? I am drunk officer but the car is immobile until 10am tomorrow when I will be sober. As it is immobile it is not a vehicle it is my hovel? can you attach a camper van tent to the car and say it a camper van. I can remember at one of the shows once a chap called Dom fitting a chemical loo instead of his passenger seat! I only slept in cars when the tent was being blown away/destroyed by the weather.

illegal to sleep in the car when over the limit. even if the car isnt on or key in the ingintion.

I've had police wake me up to check i was ok before, i had one leg out the door sick everywhere, didnt even no how i got to my car and they left me when they realised i wasnt dead. All depends on the copper
