Just a quick bump with an update on what I've been up to, for those that aren't on E38! Not much has happened on the white Golf since my last post because I've been restoring another mk1 that I bought off Saf since December. Almost done now though so the updates can continue!

Gotta give a massive thanks to POLOMONBEN, Winston and Josh GT amongst others for their help with this too! <3

thats sick dude 8-)

now get on with the white one!

Hell of a transformation, from rotbox to mint!

this looks quality now ! how did the 50lt compressor do spraying a full car ? have to keep waiting for it to fill up or did it keep enough pressure ? cheers

i actually just spent like 1 hour supposed to be at work but your thread was too interesting to ignore!

you have got alot of skills

Ah mate thats astonoshing (sp)

Look at ben

Thanks a lot guys! 8-)

Nate, the 50l was an absolute bastard and I'd advise against using one. Gotta be twice the size at least tbh. Bens mate Mike who painted it said never to ask him to paint anything else unless I get a bigger one  But we just about managed this time with a strict regime of turning the tap off between panels so the tank fills up quicker, and then truning it back on when he's in position at the next one

The thing had almost melted by the time it was finished

Look at ben

Love that guy 8-)

its all about 150lt and up for spraying haha , just wondered how well it would keep up i painted half my car with a 24ltr so i feel you pain but worse

like you say u need double i used a 100 ltr to paint the rest and it was still a bit shit for keeping up with pressure

looking good tho mate !

Bloody hell!

Thats scrubbed up well.

Well done Az :-).

Are you who I think you are? ;)

Nah, fuck being a replica of the white one. It has come to a halt with a lack of funds, time, and motivation due to the fact I wouldn't use it in shite weather anyway.

Problems with my wiring are preventing the engine from running despite me being adament that nothing has changed since being in the white Golf. :? Got fuel, got spark, got compression. Static timed doesn't show an ounce of life?!

So ripping it all out and fitting a big block like a GTI should have  Getting rid of my Mk1 Crabriolet so I have one less thing to sap my money, and then I can get on with the more important cars :-D White one should see some progress too!

Looking forward to seeing it progress! Buy safs G turbo, or buy a general one. I've a G loom here along with a few other bits. be done in a weekend :p

Look awesome tbh ...

Cheers lads :) After chatting with Winston the small block might be staying after all...

Bought some seats for the blue un today, pic from the sale ad;

They're supposed to be for a Lhasa green mk1 campaign but I don't give a fuck. They will still look right at home. Scrubbed the shit out of them and jetwashed them since the photo and they've come up mint other than the obvious drivers bolster rip, very chuffed for the price I paid.

Pete, just trying to get the blue one out of the way before I get on with the white one. But some stuff has been bought for the white one to keep my enthusiasm up.

Final piece of glass in the blue one and door built up

Winston kindly chopped a section of chassis leg from a car he was breaking so I could cut into to tiny useless pieces

And one very useful piece

Car is now ready for an ABF engine

Exciting bits bought for the white one after consulting the crystal ball that is, The Great Winston.
