Yeah you're pretty limited really, I have some Piper regrinds, cant remember exact spec but they're around 250, but have lost a slight amount of lift I believe. Was just wondering as my engine is going to be a similar spec to yours currently, and I'm pretty impressed with your power figures!

ye I was impressed. there has been a lot of work gone into my manifold by Henderson engineering to taper to match the taper of the throttle bodies to get the inlet air pulse to the best it can be and it has a s1600 exhaust manifold. I cant wait to get the proper engine back in and see what we can get with that as the head has been matched to carry on the tapper to the valves so should see good gains with the work done and the change in valve angles and so forth.

Sounds good, I probably wont be going into that depth, I have some 90mm long straight Jenvey 40mm bodies, not really gone into sorting a manifold yet.

spent last night having the cars geometry and corner weights set up by Tom of Henderson Engineering. went out for a test in the early hours and what a difference car feels like its on rails even in the wet on slick tarmac tyres.

Did you set the weights just as the car? Assume you weren't sat in judging by the weight?

That weight is minus passengers yes. we did all also check with driver and co driver sat in the car to make sure it was close and it was very close.

Yeah, at least you're two up in a rally car, unlike other race cars where you drop 70-80kg in one side when it's time to drive haha

car is al ready for the Peter Lloyd Rallying Stages at Pembrey this sunday. cant wait its been 6 months since I've driven this car in competition. few pics of her in the garage. the calm before the storm.

RALLY REPORT : PETER LLOYD STAGES 13/10/2013

The day started well with the 1st stage for the car since all the new mods and my 1st time back driving her competitively in 6 months we were joint quickest 1600cc car. but on stage 2 3/4 of the way we bent a wheel on a pot hole and popped the tyre off the rim this cost us 40 seconds and dropped us way down the field. no worries big attack on stage 3 but we did exactly the same again dropping us further back . stage 4 and 5 the approach was to go as quick as possible but back off for the rough bumpy parts to save the wheel bending happening again. this managed to get us back up to 3rd in class and 23 seconds of 2nd. so a bad day as a 1st in class was on the cards but to come away with a finish and a trophy after 6 months out it isn't bad.

Plans for the next event is to ditch the G60 wheels and get some competition wheels like compomotive as they are a lot stronger and should be able to take the rough ground better.

Haha no it was built and registered by Volkswagen motorsport so they had shells off the production line to build into rally cars and by the time it was built and registered it was into the W reg date

So I've taken the plunge and bought a genuine Volkswagen Motorsport 6n2 polo S1600 wide kit and spoiler. So this means another rebuild to wide track my car. So this will complement the new 200bhp s1600 engine and sequential gearbox. Finally the car is getting to the rally car I've always wanted. Fitting the kit now to see how much metal to cut out and to see what needs fabricating. So here goes and the next rally is on the 1st of June. So once again a massive effort needed lol
