14x6.5 tyre advice

Featured Replies

Alright guys,

Am trying to find some tyres that are going to give me at least some stretch on a 14x6.5 wheel.

From doing some research of my own, i've narrowed it down to 155/55 Nankangs?

Just wondering if anybody thinks this is my best bet / has any other ideas for tyres that could work on this size wheel?

Also to anyone who is running/has run nankangs - comments?

Any feedback would be much appreciated as I don't have a clue!! :?

?

stretch is not needed at that width

I know it might have looked stupid but as i said...pretty new to everything, so thanks for a proper reply.

You can't say it's not needed without knowing offsets and if the wheels are spaced out. If everything is standard, then you wouldn't 'need' stretch no. However if they are spaced a lot or have low/-I've offset then stretch may be needed.

I'm spaced 35mm and 20mm on the rear and front respectively with et38 6" wheels and I'm having to stretch a little, 155/55 and 166/55 font and rear.

I'm getting 165/55/14's for my 14x6.5's so that the tyre fits in the arch and it doesn't rub on the arch each time i have passengers....not willing to roll arches....therefore the tyres are needed/wanted so I can achieve this lol.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Having checking on various threads etc have hopefully come to two more sensible options?

  • 195/45 Falkens - £46.10 per corner
  • 185/50 Yokos - £57.60 per corner

Any opinions on the brands/sizes i've listed would be great!

If you think what i'm asking is stupid or worth a "lol" then don't bother replying...simple.

Cheers :-)

Thats a good price for the Yoko's...i bought 4 a few weeks ago and they were £65 each.

ah right fair enough, these are a "special offer" on blackcircles haha!

how are you finding them bud?

Stretch looks wank on anything less than seven inches wide.

Having had a local garage mount a 155/55 up the other day, i totally agree...it looked like an elastic band!

any opinions on sizes then?

I don't use anything but 185/50/14 A539 Yoko's mate...can't fault them at all.
