Looks really good on the red wheels.

Cheers dood, couldn't decide between White or a brighter colour so thought I'd try both :)

  • Good work, nice to see you reunited with a lovely looking mk2!

  • Also just realised all my old photos have stopped working as they were on Photobucket....so I'll have to go through and change up all my posts at some point

Cheers dood, I'll keep it updated :)

Love this loon 8-)

Loon looks great :) Wish I could get mine sitting like that!

Wow, iv got exactly the same wheels and exactly the same dilema with the paint. Whoever painted them last was a complete tool and had put on about 100 coats or thick paint so its going to be a nightmare to remove it all.

What was the best way of getting it all off after you had put the nitromors on?

Epic loon by the way!

Cheers lads. Good to hear people like it :)

Like you said max it was a ball ache, I used a wire brush on the face of the spokes but it was awkward with the shape....then I just used some sort of thin metal scraper to scrape the paint of.lol. Not the best way but it worked eventualy

very nice loon mate loving the alleycats i need some for mine

keep up the good work mate

Cheers mate, yeah I realy like the alleycats myself, bit different to classics all the time but the cats ate gettin more common now so might look for a change before next summer.

I think I've got a space sharing a unit with some friends now so should be able to get some decent work done over the winter

In a similar situation with mine, but mine's gonna be hitting the road sooner than I really wanted lol, (hopefully it will be my ride to edition haha)

Really tidy looking example looks so good on them wheel's.

Will be watching this one :)

Cheers fella, I was hoping to get mine on the road for e38 but nobody wants to buy my merc and I can't justify running two cars atm!!

Good news is that I've managed to get the loon into a unit as of next week so I can hopefully start getting some work done and get some updates flowing :D

So digging up the past....back in 2013 I decided to bail on the UK and jumped a plane to New Zealand for a 6 month extended holiday/snowboard season....I landed back in the UK a couple months ago after extending the holiday for 4 and a half years ?

6 months after I left the UK I had to sell the loon to a friend to pay for copious amounts of alcohol and Thailand delicacies. But no amount of alcohol could make me feel better after selling the loon....but it was too late....my friend had sold it to another friend who then sold it on to a randomer at a show!!

So.....until 6 months ago the loon was but a distant memory....until one day I decided I needed to find her and attempt to import her to NZ. But unfortunately the kiwi dream died off for me and I returned home a few months ago.....but before the trip home I managed to stalk the current owner of the polo and found out she was in good hands.....a few persuasive messages later and the loon was reluctantly signed over.....and back in her rightful home 4 years after selling her ?

I've barely read back through my original thread myself yet but I'll slowly be updating it again now as the loon will be in my hands for the next 50 years of all goes to plan. She's my daily at the moment as I couldn't not drive her after nearly 5 years away, so nothing major for the foreseeable future except some wheel changes and cosmetic tarting up...but she'll be going through an almost full resto at some point when I own somewhere with the space to do it....but for now......

Swapped out the castalets for some mini g60s today, made a world of difference in my opinion, never been a fan of black alloys as they hide the detail of the wheels and just create a big black chasm in the arches. Love the old school look the g60s bring.
