Polo gti window problem

Featured Replies

Having problems with my drivers side window. The switch has been playing up for a while working when it wants to, the c/l worked fine.

This Monday before traveling to gatwick I had the window down then it wouldn't go back up not even with the key in the door but the Passenger window worked fine off the key.

I took all the door card off and managed to take the motor off and bodge the window up for my trip.

Does this mean the motor/ regulator is broken? Is this expensive? Is there a separate fuse for each window? I no I'll be needing a new switch

Hope some of that makes sense

It seems that a lot of electric windows are going out these days; My dads drivers side doesn't work and neither of my mums front windows work .

I'm not sure how Polo electric windows are wired up so this is a bit of a stab in the dark but switches and motors are pretty simple electronics really:

You could test the switch and motor separately. Test the motor without a load on it and test the switch on the other window.
