hi I'm new to vw so this should be interesting. i bought a mk2 saloon the other day for £900 of a mate (matt way)

spec:

afh with bikes carbs

2.5 inch exhaust, down pipe to the back

lowered 40mm all round

also got with the sale to go on:

carrado front seats

ronal multispoke wheels

roof rack

last car i owned was a gti6 205 so it was a abit of a shock when i went round a 90 degree corner (owned for less than a mile) at 45ish, i turned the wheel but the car went straight on :/ hit a curb (brakes r shit aswell lol) and twisted the driver side tca. it was a bit of wake up......i need a subframe

plans are:

sort the handling/brakes

want a faster engine...mayb 1.6 bottom end with tbs

spray whole car

already done a few things

tinted front lights

fitted front seats

started refurbing ronal wheels

cleaned up and painted some g40 calipers ready for some new discs

will get some pics up soon as i no how :/ lol

Looks good, get some black trim wax on the bumpers and arches.

little update, 1 wheel primered :) god mutli spoke wheel are a pain in the ass to strip down

also g40 caliper and poly bushes for the tca's

Forgot the masking tape.....

nope, new tyres after

got al the plastic trim off 2day and dint reali find much rust, jus a bit of rot at the rear of the o/s sill and sum surface rust on the n/s rear sill and few spots on front arch. all in all pritty pleased :)

bit of an update

chopped out the rot in the sill...CAN SOME ONE PLEASE SEND ME A PIC OF A NORMAL DRIVERS SIDE SILL? I'm not sure on the original shape s the fuel pipe is there

took the spoiler off (will be for sale)and started spraying the car oxide red :) reali glad i am now, looks mint imo

choped a coil off the front spring (40mm lowering springs b4) but it still looks the same at the mo

update time

fitted the tca poly bush's and arb blocks (wheel is now in the right place lol)

think my arb was bent aswell so fitted a 4speed one (which i was told wont fit but it fits fine :/)

also done bit more sprayin and filled the holes in the boot from wer the spoiler was

plated and welded the driverside sill...rust free sill :)

sprayed up al the trim n arches ready to go back on once the cars sprayed

bought a new bonnet, well second hand of a coupe s. think I'm going to leave it white as I'm going to spray the middle of the wheels white aswell

nearly forgot..i bought some lenso wheels :)

Over the past few weeks iv managed to get it al sprayed up oxide red :) i bought a tub of oxide primer to use in a gun with compressor but i done the door and even with thinners and fiddling with the gun it still dint give a very good finish so i decided to do it with rattle cans and i must say I'm quite pleased with it. Also got the weldin finished off.

And for future referance... No a 4 speed arb wont fit properly, i thought it was okay but it slightly hits/rubs the end of the gearbox :( so i measured up the old 1 and it seems okay still so painted it up ready for re-trial of fitting this week.

Also bren lookin into what to do engine wise and I'm defo going for 1.6 bottom end with 1.4 head and custom itb's usin the body of what i think r gsxr itb's with megasquirt ecu

Also got a set off lenso wheels that I'm cleaning up atm, not sure on centre colour yet tho....any sugestions welcome. I'm likin gold or white atm

Have got some nylon and ali engine mounts and rear beam bush's in the works atm should be done in few days

crop them in paint mate looks great on them lenso's, wasent holding much hope when you said you'd bought some but i like it! 185's on the back and 165's on the front maybe?

Not feeling the red oxide, probably because half of my car is in red oxide and i hate it

Love it. Looks great on the lensos.

I email the photos on my iPhone to myself. That way it asks you if you want to resize it when you email. Large works fine for forum purposes.
