I've just tried to enlarge the picture to try an get a better view, but the resolution is so low it just gets blurred, but as far as I can see the screw #12 does go into that bracket/slide #5 ( 6Q0807183 guide profile left / 6Q0807184 guide profile right / 3.15€uros each)

Ok, so after about 4 hours of faffing around and finding various things needed adjusting and doing the bumper still don't sit right. It seems as if the slam panel well its the bar at the very front that protects the rad, just in case I'm wrong. Is a few cm too low, will adjust this and hopefuly all will be well, can I just remove this or will it not pass an MOT?

Is it possible that the bumper bar has been fitted the wrong way around? like upside down? As for the MOT I doubt if the tester would be able to see if the bumper bar was there or not, just the front end would have NO protection even in a very slow speed knock!

I thought it may have but there is one bolt on the bottom and two on the top so it wouldn't be possible, it seems to catch on the lower part where the bottom grill pieces go if you get what I mean. So in theory if I got an aftermarket bumper it wouldn't have that indent part for the lower grills to clip into so wouldn't catch or am I being dumb lol

Anyone know of any decent looking front bumpers, bin searching but can't see anything I like. Partly because there just pics of the bumper without it being painted or on the car

Ok it was'nt clear from the pics as to how many bolts held the bar in place, is there any sign of distortion on the section from the bar to the mounting plates? (areas in red in pic) as these are designed to deform in a crash as thats the only way I can see why it would be sitting that low in the bumper cover

There isn't mate, it seems to be sitting perfectly straight. Well it was as of yesterday, due to me looking to see what's up with the bumper I noticed one side of it wasn't even bolted on. It still remains a mystery lol

Even with the bumper bar as high as itl go the bumper still doesn't seem to sit properly. If I raise the bumper to line up with the bonnet the side of the bumper doesn't sit under the wing so obviously that isn't going to work.

Going to get a new bumper and get local bodydshop to fit it, whilst looking for a bumper I saw those bonnet extender thingies and was just wondering how they go on, isn't it just an extra piece that has to be welded on. This is going to be a last resort if the gap don't get sorted not ideal but at least it can't be seen

Can you get some pics of the front of the car including the front chassis members?
