Adams '88 Marine Blue Breadvan - Back on the road after 19 months ! Pg 3

Featured Replies

Thought I'd start a journal and post a few pics of my '88 Polo C . To cut a long story short I've been In the market for a Mk2 Polo for a long time .

So I started looking for a Polo Mk 2 , wanted one from when my Grandad owned one in the mid-80's style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/biggrin.gif

Well after much searching I found that getting something half tidy was going to be not so easy , I spent about a month checking out the trader and fleebay etc. when the right car turned up the other week I took a quick 70mile drive and £450 later I was on my way home in my '88 1043cc , breadvan , FSH , I'm the 3rd owner , 65k , 12months mot with a big smile on my face , I absolutely love it !! .

So far I've fitted:-

* black parcel shelf ,

* Golf GTi MK1 steering wheel ,

* new stereo

* started recovering the door cards In leather

I've just replaced the O/S/R wheel bearing , and bought a set of 14" Pirelli P-Slot alloys today and hopefully will be fitting this week .

To be honest mate the only advice I can give is don't bother , I got for perfect and it looked bang on , but returned from my hols on Friday and the car had been sat out in the sun for 7days and all the covering on the panel has gone saggy . Quite disappointed . Think I'm gonna get some new panels and have a re-think .

Where did you get the fog lights from and how did you mount them? I've been wanting to fit a set to mine.

Loving how this is coming along. Mind giving me a link to the fog lights?

That roof rack is begging for spotlights where those holes are.

Loving the orange pedals, what's the extra switch wired up to? How did you attatch the earth strip at the back? I've got one but I can't find a way to fit it.

I wonder where you got the idea for putting the Polo badge on the grille from 8-)

Also, I WANT DEM WHEELS.

The extra switch is for my front fogs . I made a bracket to attach the earth strip just behind the bumper out of some flat bar i found at work :-D

Oh right, couldn't you wire it up to the stock switch?

Really nice, love it! Not a fan of the stickers though.

No need to lower it!
