The extra switch is for my front fogs . I made a bracket to attach the earth strip just behind the bumper out of some flat bar i found at work :-D

Oh right, couldn't you wire it up to the stock switch?

15/12/2011 Update :- Winter wheels fitted today

Put these on today and fitted my G60 centre caps :-D

very nice square back mate! loving the colour, and do the pictures do it justice or is the bodywork really that good haha!

and i know i'm probably taking a dive saying this, but those winter wheels should be summer wheels, its pulling them off nicely!

Yeah the bodywork is good considering the age , don't get me wrong its not perfect but they're jobs I can work on

I think they are , I was given them to nick the tyres off but then I noticed the looked similar to G60 style wheel (2" smaller and 2 x Less holes), so I bought the caps and thought I'd give them a try :-)

I searched for ages for it and ended up getting a NWVAG show , paid a fair bit for it as well :-D

So those alloys that you have now removed that I've been wanting for a while...

I really dunno weather to sell them or not , they're original to the car but then again I don't think I'll be using them again .......

Done A few jobs over Xmas ...

Fitted new accelerator cable ,

Fitted Nokia CK-7 handsfree kit ,

Lined the boot to replace the original carpet ,

Wired heated seat elements ,

Ordered a boss for my new steering wheel ,

Had tracking done :-)

Update 08/04

Been using this as my daily covering a lot of miles each week and had a growing to do list of jobs to get it spot on .

*Blowing exhaust ....

turned out to be the clamp on the down pipe , took 5mins to re-paste and tighten up

*Rear wiper , heated rear screen and rear wash ....

the wiring where it passes through the hatch had worn through , replaced and that solved the wiper and heated screen fault . Traced the rear wash feed and checked for blockages and it turned out to be the jet , had to remove the rear spoiler to remove the jet , and took forever to clear out ! All working now

*New style door handles ....

further to The OEM+ style I'm going with this I decided to fit the later style door handles similar to the mkIII Golf ones . Obviously being an after market product I did my research on fitting etc. And also got some good advice off sivdub They turned out to be a nightmare to fit ! Ended up having to use a few bits off the old setup to make it work , but got there in the end !

Got a few new bits to keep me busy today in the post ......

I like the look of those! Can you use your original lock barrels with them? As i wouldnt mind some for mine, but dont want loads of extra keys.

Yeah mate , used my original barrels etc. , to be honest they where a bit of a pig to fit and get right and adjusted but just tool my time and got it right in the end . Used quite a few of the original screws etc as well

After completely losing interest in cars for a while I thought it was about time I took my breadvan off the road for winter and pick something a bit newer and hopefully help me find the love again

So I've picked this up tonight ...

Its a 1.2S , Its done 11k and I'm really happy with it .

Well after 19 months I finally got my finger out and got the breadvan back on the road. Initially my intention was to do some work on it but life got in the way and I just didn't get around to it so this week I thought I'd make some enquiries re insurance etc and go from there. I discovered that recently turning thirty had its advantages and insurance for me would be buttons so sorted that , the next morning I picked it up from its resting place and had a MOT booked for that afternoon and to my surprise the only obvious thing I could find that needed replacing where the two front tyre's but fortunately I had its original wheels knocking about so they went on and off for the test it went . 1 hr later I collected and to my absolute shock it passed with only two advisories! !!!. I couldn't believe that after being outside for 19 months untouched it would be quite so easy to get it back on the road . Taxed it online and I've used it to commute the last few days . Plan to replace the fuel tank as the filler neck is leaking if it's not parked on level ground so that's the first job on the list then a massive clean up as the paint isn't looking it's best .
