Yesterday i was sat thinking and had this idea of getting a cheap runaround to get me back to freedom whilst i was doing the coupe, as It's getting on my tits not having a car.

Sent a text or several and then today i end up collecting my new set of wheels.

Its a 1991 CL Breadvan in the immense colour of Capri Green

5 speed 1.3 spi

Purchased off of Renegade (Dan) on here for the immense sum of not so much at all

Couple of catches though, it didn't come with any seats or any suspension.

However, that was soon solved with the shocks and springs from my coupe (that I'm yet to fit) And the old Genesis/Rocco seats out of Bretts old G

Couple of pics i grabbed before topgear came on.

Needs a few small problems sorting but nothing massive.

Currently doesn't start, not sure if its the Battery or the Starter. Has to be bump started every time, leaving a battery on charge over night and if its not that, I'll whip the starter off and have a looksie at that.

The spots are going, there cool but I've enough lights with the hella on the coupe, i want this thing to look mean as fuck.

Plans consist of undrivable lows, tinting spray, hammerited steels and maybe a few other small mods.

If i tidy up the few imperfections this will be mint, not asif I'm breaking the bank with mods

Service, new rear bumper, headunit and some form of speakerage and I'll probably leave it at that.

Will board the rear out as it has no rear seatbelts.

I've been tempted by wheels already, been offered some of the 14" BMW wheels (the ones that are like bottle tops) For a tenner off a mate...

Will see though, would be sick low on 14's, decent offsets too so would sit in the rear arches well. But its more dollar that could be going on the coupe (would need 4 new tyres).

Sorted the starting problem, was just a completely dead battery. That i dont think was charging as the alternator belt ate itself shortly after swapping the battery and starting it.

Luckily, i had one in the garage that had done about 2K off the GT so dashed that on it.

Idle is all over the place, guessing thats just sensors? Temp gauge doesn't work wither so possibly related? Blue or black sensors? or both?

Got today off work so hoping to get the suspension swapped over and everything i dont want stripped from the car (spots, rear bench, parcel shelf etc etc)

And I'f I'm super productive, a massive cleaning session.

Reminds me of the date i was re-spraying the coupe, it all got a little heated

so it is true! haha, my god, reminds me of someone i know whos dad, swapped a celica with TnT for a mk2 16v with none, and now he has to borrow his mates car coz he has no car to drive......

you should raise it and stick some PHAT tractor tyres on to go with them lovely lamps.....oh and a snorkle!

So, tackled the front suspension today and a few other little odds and sods.

Finished removing my kit off the coupe, right pain to do in a small garage.

I may have gotten over excited with the grinder though.

Take one 80mm spring n shocks kit, with lowering topcaps, add a grinder to the equation and minus 2 coils each side... and imagine what you might get

TCA on the passanger side is shagged though so its not back on the ground yet till i have a new one :(

Removed the spot lamps, looks better already :)

Hopefully, if i get up early enough and GSF have a tca in stock, I can get it back on the ground tomorrow. Actually cant wait to see how low this ends up being lol.

The coupe was never quite low enough for my liking up front, sat perfect at the back but i wanted a bit of nose down. This should hopefully give the desired effect.

This is what a 80mm kit, with lowering topcaps and 2 coils off looks like at the front

I'd say, its pretty perfect.

Big tyres dont help, rubs on the inner arch when turning over bumps etc. Looks pretty sick though I'd say.

And with the satin beast...

Boarded out the rear bench area yesterday, just cut the mdf rough with some supporting bits and some 'sticks like sh*t' glue holding it down

Does the job i need though, will be covered in some thick carpet soon. Gunna get an offcut or something from a carper place.

Brakes are making a vile noise atm though. Think its rust on the discs but not sure. Sounds worse than that

Will have a look tomorrow at that i reckon.
