Stick some washers under the engine mount bolts to raise the engine up a few mm's??

  • Author

Wouldn't that make it worse? lolol

good luck, just sell up and get the coupe on the road?...

if it doesn't pass that is.

  • Author

It has been driven :ninja:

But yeah, It only went and somehow fucking PASSED!!!!

Insurance docs not came through by email yet for some reason, taking an age :? So cant tax it

And I'm so skint, 1st insurance payment was like double to what i was expecting. Actually not sure what to do i have such little money..

I'm putting my V-festival ticket up for sale, this could actually make me cry. Cant afford to do both, so one has to go/wait. Pissed off a little tbh even though its so close to being on the road.

£193 1st insurance payment :o

I'm gunna have to go with flux. the quotes are just getting worse and worse.

Needs an immobiliser, so thats a good excuse to buy this, cus its cheap and awesome. They keyfobs are so cool hahaha

<a href="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-ALARM-IMMOBILISER-2-DOOR-REMOTE-CENTRAL-LOCKING-KIT-/400220051001?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d2ef95639#ht_6295wt_905" target="_blank">http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-ALARM-IMMOBI...9#ht_6295wt_905</a>

have you got this yet? or fitted one before, want to do this on mine but electics isnt my strong point haha

Glad to hear it passed Toby roll on VWaction!

I've got remote locking on my Coupe, never fitted an alarm before though

Its pretty simple to do remote locking, u just need a perm live and an earth to connect it to and the rest it does itself tbh.

Action isnt looking promising if i cant sell V ticket man. Petrol aint a problem as i have co-op vouchers  But food and drink and general weekend stuff i have NO money for at all.

Bloody hate insurance. pisses me off bigtime. Insurance is stopping me from going to V-festival :anger:

How did you get such cheap insurance on it?

  • Author

So, V ticket has sold already.

Bit wank like but its good for the breadvan.

Gets a service and a thrashing on the cat n fiddle on Sunday. All good fun :)

My insurance was through Brentacre as per all of my cars, helps that I'm 24 with 4 years no claims I suppose (looking forward to 25 lol)

You painted the wheels gold yet?!

  • Author

I haven't got the wheels yet. Possibly picking them up tomorrow or Sunday. Got no money for paint though yet. Can get them primed and prepped though ready.

Need to sort this banging issue out as its driving me insane and I've hardly driven it haha. Its seriously bad like. I might pay u a visit dan, but tbh the highly road will be the death of it i reckon

lol, found out what the knocking/zero suspension travel problem is.

Driveshaft is knocking, but only on the savage bumps

Its actually the shocks bottoming out, I have no bumpstops in. But if i did, theres that little room in there that itd be constantly sat on the bumpstop

haha, its mad. I'm thinking the only way to sort it, is to get coilovers :ninja:

Possibly be doing the MK1 golf conversion on the cheap next month.

Only thing is, i dont really wanna be driving it as it is, because its gunna start doing damage to the car i reckon.

Might get bumpstops and get them on next week and see what happens lol. I reckon its either coilovers or replacing bump stops every couple of months/

...I have no bumpstops in. But if i did, theres that little room in there that itd be constantly sat on the bumpstop

Bah, who needs suspension.

  • Author

lmao, honestly its disgusting.

I may awell have none at all. even just if the road is a bit uneven (smooth but like wavy kinda thing) its bottoms out  Draincovers are painful, dread to think what will happen if i hit a bad pothole.

not even low

  • Author

lol, I'm ordering new bumpstops today

But from what i saw, bumpstops are bigger than the gap between the strut and the topcap, bumpstops will make it higher

Rob, u at HPLD's? Best fucking be

You can't be anywhere near that low if your running a subframe you two.

Be a big waste of £250 as soon as you take it on the road.

Plus it's gonna handle like a bag of shit!

  • Author

This isnt having a subframe max...... lol

And Ben, its as low as in the pics. The tyres are huge though so you cant really tell.

  • Author

Theres one of it parked by the fucking kerb.

What more can i do?

Come on Sunday ben and ull see it for yourself.

Its in bretts garage atm as I'm touching the boot up

You can't be anywhere near that low if your running a subframe you two.

I'll be running 40mm maximum max, just curios to see as to how low this one is. Call it me being nosey :-p

EDIT: writing i'll be running 40mm max max didnt quite read right lol

I'm on about what we were talking about at the poloshow ben. There's no point in having coilovers if you can only go down ~70mm

This isnt having a subframe max...... lol

I know this isn't you pleb, but you were saying you wanted your coupe lower than mine was untill you saw my subframe

  • Author

lol

I'll try and get a pic when i go to VW tomorrow, next to something cool haha.

And i know, I've been thinking about it max.

This is why its good that i get coilovers, i can get the perfect medium hopefully then.

If i have to have archgap with the pls, then fine be it. It will still look sick still and be drivable.

Are you coming on Sunday Max? Its up your ends

Edited by B-shaw

To where??

You have to remember toby, i don't read

Edited by MaxMax

Coolios

Got started on the boot today, all old silicone is gone, the one hole that ended up being about 3 holes now have all been filled with chemical metal

Around where the badges were has all been sanded back and the flue that had been painted over has been removed lol.

Get it taped up then all primed tomorrow. Maybe even all painted up depending on how energetic I'm feeling lol.

Pics of the wheels. I've grown to like the black glitter effect so i think they are staying as they are. For now atleast. Does look cool, just not sure if its better than gold.
