Well its something for the fluid? like a filter...

Its just a rubber shield,a little mudguard - pull it out with your fingers, then drive through some mud, then get filthy hands next time you wanna remove the petrol cap.

Its held in by a loop of coathanger wire in a groove around the outer. Its hardly a NASA operation to remove.

Well we had a look, We've tryed pushing it back in like, Should i cut it out?

as said it just pulls off...pull it towards you , if you poke at the outer theres prob a wire strip in there that you should take out first

you will get mud down the side of the car as mentioned , everyone else manages ok with it on

Do you cut your socks off? You'll kick yourself when you manage it,a Rubicks cube it aint.

You've gotta be trollin' me,but i'll give you one more tip in case you're blonde - get your digits on one part of the outer edge where it meets the paintwork, and push it hard inwards toward the cap. Or just wedge a screwdriver in that bit and lever it out like the lid of a tin of paint.

If you still cant manage it,grab some random kid off the street and tell him you'll give him a fiver if he can get it off.

Clarification needed...

Is it the full black guard thing you want to remove or just the lump moulded into it that your pointing to? If its the later then I wouldn't sugest trying to hammer it out as there's a one way valve behind that that is part of the charcoal canister setup. Not sure how important it is but probably best not to go smacking it with a hammer 'just incase'.

apparently the charcoal canister only works for a certain amount of miles of the engines life.

a charcole canister is a little filter thats usualu located at the front on the car. its a filter for the fumes in your fuel tank. it allows it to breath.. but they onlt have a lifespan of a few thousand miles.

can i slap you?? :)

Haha please don't, Right should i remove it man, Or relocate it, Its just where i can move it toooooo

just leave it alone! haha

Basically, if you want to fit this new cap, remove the black thing but without using a hammer, by pulling it outwatds towards you. However it will get muddy!
