Haha- didn't want to push it too much, I was running in a fresh set of cut slicks too, and with it being damp 150mph is plenty!

Martin- Aye first dyno run at Polo Show :-D for testing Brunters was a good location, we both got much more done in a shorter space of time than testing on the road, and did it safely (ish).

Chris- Don't worry about the bonnet, was crap anyway to be honest! I'll reskin it over winter and spray it red, will also make it fit properly!

that is preeeeetty sick

You can say that again!

Did 150mph on GPS from a standing start before the day was out, and there was still plenty of the 2 mile runway left - so I reckon a true 155mph should be easily achievable in the dry, and 160mph if you take a run at it. The lack of a bonnet probably didn't help the aero either.

Am still shocked by Bruntingthorpe's free-for-all kind of attitude to testing - there were some hacks there from a bike mag, who started riding the wrong way up a section of the circuit to get some photos whilst we were ragging round. Then another load were doing a slalom the wrong way down the main straight - perfect when you've got a Polo doing 150mph runs and a proto Bentley or two going even faster!

DAYMMMMMMMM!

!!!

Probly THE best!!!!! mk3 on here without a dout

proper good work cant wait to see this in the near future :D

Just brilliant. Well done to the PPP chaps. This is probably the best/most fun advertisement you could have. The finished product is inspirational.

Cheers gents!

Finally got some vids from Blyton, firstly please excuse the scrubbing (mute your PC!) and secondly, I do realise I can't drive- in my defence this is the first time in 2 years I've driven a plate diff, 215bhp+ Polo!

So, first off- mr spin:

Out with Sam- Overtake Carrera 4s, and an Elise/Exige- once the blue RX7 finally moves out the way!

What was supposedly a cool down, then turned into a race with my mate Mark from work:

He's the one in this AX:

AX is fast, not much power but slicks and a driver who isn't shy!

And finally a session with Alex:

As Robin is too lazy to put his pics up:

I'm a test engineer (powertrain) for an OEM in the North West, and Andy's a principal electronics/integration engineer for an OEM in the Midlands :-)

Awesome, thought you might be in that sector!

I thoroughly enjoyed your videos and love all the inside wheel in the air photo's, plus that AX is real nice, it looks like it means business.

What sort of things do I have to do to start doing track days? I mean is there like a license I need?

I love this car. Best one on here. Full stop, no debates, best thing on here!

Cheers Alex & Toby- Currently halfway through prepping for VW Action (drag slicks and suspension change).

Here's another vid from Blyton, filmed form the AX, fair few Polos in it:

Whats the spec on that AX? its bloody savage!

Circa 625-650kg, about 150bhp (Saxo VTS.Pug 307 Motor with a few tweaks), LEDA suspension, full slicks, and the owner can drive!

Given a more open circuit, the Polo would be a fair bit quicker- hopefully we're both doing Oulton Park towards the end of the year :-)

That red G40 shifts!!!!!!!

I could tell you were pulling away when you could.

Quite a short circuit by the looks of it at Blyton?
