  • So next on the list of things to do was look at the rear axle- I plan on stepping up a slick size again, and had slight concerns about how floppy a standard Polo rear axle was.  Que some inspirat

Insurance dependant, I might put it on the road next year- I do enjoy driving it on the road, but it does get stupid sometimes (car will do 110mph in 440 yards from standstill).

Trackdays are the preffered option, it's what I've leaned towards with the build, all the suspension setup would require alteration for road use too.

I bet this thing looks pretty scary when its inevitebly flying past you!

Hauling hard, and fair to say I was giving it ten tenths all day- which resulted in this:

Plenty of pics as promised- I also stripped 2nd gear in the afternoon, not one of the best days!

shit! u no your meant to go round the corner not through it yeah?

Hope your ok mate that looks bad. Did the car take a lot of damage?

Ouch! Hope you & the car are ok, I love this car.

Ouch. Bet you felt that.

Much damage? From the pictures it looks as if it held up pretty well.

i'm guessing its twisted the rear 1/4 in slightly?

Judging by the pics on facebook. Some carpark chassis jigging looked to be taking place

shame though pete. Can imagine youve probably thought the same situation over and over thinking how you could have reacted differently.

SHIT! Nooooooo!

It's not terminal, but will take a fair bit of effort to make it look pretty again. Yoof said it still drove straight - I suspect that the cage helped prevent the rear turretts from moving. Bit of work with a hammer, and some tweaking of spring lengths and rates to make it better mannered, and it'll be back. Apparently the car was going very well though - I think the 'scalp' list from Oulton today was pretty lengthy!

noooooooo :(

I'm hoping the chunk of rear quarter i cut off a car last week is good enough to help fix this. more then happy to donate to the cause.
