Good stuff mate- its about the only spare don't have. Going to fit my second ATV with Gripper diff in a few weeks.

It probably stripped because it's dealing with 220bhp and slicks

Nah no secrets! Basically replacing damaged panels with GRP ones, and refitting the carbon bonnet, then getting everything painted and the damage repaired :-)

Oh and maybe some driving lessons...

What i like about this is that you built a car to go fast and take some pain. You gave it pain and yeah a bit of a muck up is a set back but we all know it will come back better than before.

Think this is why you seem so upbeat about it. I'd be devastated lol.

how much hp could you get from the turbo'd 1.3 lump and box?

traction prob killed the box especially if you have grippy tyres and diff would be made worse

Yup for sure- didn't think it would happen so soon, but hey, it's what I built the car for!

Ultimate horsepower on an 8v head, probably high 200s, 260, 270bhp I'd have thought, especially with an increase in capactity, having said that I'd not want much more than 220bhp, it's got enough at the moment :-)

Spoken to bodyshop now, booked in for 1st Jan, and panels, aerocatches, naca ducts are on their way!

How the Polo is currently sitting, awaiting new panels:

Carbon bonnet has been re-skinned since Bruntingthorpe! Now held with a few catches, new wings and boot on their way hopefully before Christmas!

Had Performance Trim still been around I'd have got them to resin both halves together, although all smiles only used a mastik originally on it, I've used both- but with the aerocatches there's no chance it can come up again.

Mate, as bad as I feel for you crashing your pride and joy....like you said, youve built it for that and its limped away quite well considering....look forward to seeing it all rebuilt back up again =D

Out of pure curiosity, why did you stick with the 8v engine? And not go for a 16v alternative?
