Depends on offset I suppose- probably, they're plenty big enough, I also run alot of castor angle though, and usually struggle with front wheel/bumper contact.

The arches are WL Motorsport ones, not cheap- according to their website an 8x15 ET20 will package under there.

Correct boot has now turned up, will get some pics over the weekend.

Gt arches are in various places (one of them being in a gravel trap at Oulton) the side trims will stay to go back on the car. Thanks for the kind words!

Not done anything on this for a while, but now I've moved house I've managed to finish off the wings, all bar indicator holes:

GRP Boot is here, so am going to pick the car up this Friday and trailer it down, I can work on it evenings and weekends then, should progress things a little quicker!

all the little bits add up man, keep at it.

absolutely sick!

Who says the germans are well ahead of us - this thing is flying the flag for the uk

must be interesting getting the bumper on and off! have you had to trim any of it dood? it looks like it has to slide between the wing and the arch. you might need to sort the mk3 bumper droop to stop that being put under load when you corner hard and stuff, i solved it by running a long bar off the chassis bar at the front which the bumper sits on so it cant droop

Yeah I've trimmed the bumper back a fair bit, and spaced out the side mounts for it. I only use two bolts to hold it on, as it usually comes on/off when it's being loaded on the trailer.

Will grab some pics tomorrow once the wings & bumper are back on.

Just hope my new wheels clear these arches!!

Noice!

Its gonna look pretty beastly in its new guise!

Wings are now mounted properly, quite happy with the fit, bonnet needs trimming and finishing, then onto the back and boot. Aiming to get it to the paint shot in a few weeks, so I can rebuild the box and start using it again for summer.

I'm so jelous of this whole car. And want to see more running videos!

  • Author

Nah it's actually quite stable, I've only driven a few cars 150mph+ but the only downside to the Polo at those speeds is it's so light :-)

far play mate! keep up the hard work!

Saw this on the bay. Thought it might be useful to repairing the damage so added a link in case you needed such a panel and hadn't spotted it.

Looks like it is coming along nicely.
