1341 are bigger pistons, standard are 1272cc

also , big valve head? They need to be made or do they come on a certion car?

i think yoof will have started with a complete g40 engine rather than converting a gt block, although it can be done. all polo conrods are the same, specific gt,g40etc conrods dont exist so 1341 pistons will fit any polo conrod. BVHs are custom with the work undertaken by a professional, i think it consists of fitting bigger exhaust valve seats in the head and porting the head to work with the increased valve size, the bigger exhaust valves can be purchased from jabba, get yourself on clubg40 theres loads of info on there about this sort of stuff

Will is correct, you can however use the 3F (GT) block if you want, just have to drill/tap provision for a knock sensor in the rear of the block (G40 has this stock).

Crank/rods are the same dimensions, although I feel that the G40 crank is a different material.

awesome! did you do the cage yourself? are you putting the dash back in we need more pics

i bought some of the wheels you got in your first pic the other day, do you know what the proper name is I've been told like 5 different names, and what spacers was you using on the front to clear the brakes?

Atiwie 7x13 ET20, also in ET3. I used 20mm spacers at the back, 10mm at the front.

those 2 mm bigger valve are also available from gsf lol £6.50 each just need to no what you looking for valve seats will be done when you take the head to have them re cut to house the 2mm bigger seats any one no of anywhere around yorkshire that can put new valve seats in?

your car is awsome yoof nearly the same speck as my engine for the mk1 golf apart from a couple of extra bits I'm using that I'm keeping a secret till the car is done

I've recentley been working on my car again, after slicing my thumb up a treat:

I had to have some time off from cars (11stiches in my left thumb dictated this!) and got a few customer conversions out the way too. So work could commence, a few teaser shots:

As the whole shell is now stich welded, I've got to remove all the underseal on the opposite side of the panels and reseal or paint it:

Am hoping to be at Club Polo RR Day, but we'll see, it's almost November and the car's still a shell!

Once i have a car that goes, turns, stops, this is the next stage. What steel did you use for your cage? 45mm T45? And also how did you go about the mitres?

I notice you havn't gone through the bulkhead with your strengthening..

Top mounts look the business! Projects like yours and dogwoods over on cgti make me want to start again. True inspiration!

Aah yes, spot on. I have been building up a vision in my mind of how to go about strengthening my mk3 shell.. and it has finally been completed!!

I'd like to weld it in myself, but working out all the dimensions, bends etc is just a massive minefield. Will you be supplying them in a "kit form" unfitted. Or is it a case of bespoke weld-in only?
