Popdragin- I recorded a low 15 on my GT with gas, although I think it had a 14 in it to be fair- that was with an 80 shot :-)

Put the axle on 3 times to get it square to the chassis, bit of a pain but worth it:

With the rear beam mounts, you said it took three goes to get it on squarely. Could this be a reason why some Polos lean?

Alex- I was setting the rear beam to be parallel with the track of the car, as there's alot of play in the rear mounts it's easy to get it wrong and then the car will 'crab'. I've got 4 wheel alignment gauges but can't use them until the engine/suspension is in- hopefully it's correct though as taking the rear beam off to adjust it is abit of a pain (exhaust, diffuser would have to come off).

Polos leaning I think is partly due to tolerance stack up between OEM and aftermarket components, and if the car often travels with just one person in, one side will have up to 100kg extra load than the other, so not surprising after 15+ years it's settled slightly lower.

Hmm. Back to winding the coilovers up on the driver's side I guess. I just don't get why a car with all new suspension would still lean. Old shocks I get but fresh stuff should sort it, wouldn't it?

Something must wear out or sag in that time, in which case it can be replaced and it'd sit properly then.

Not questioning what you're saying, you know Polos inside and out better than I do. I'm just out to cure the root cause of the lean, rather than wind up my coilies to cover it up. Unless they leave the factory that way, in which case I'll settle for getting the C spanner out.

It's fine, I wouldn't be surprised if the shell is bent slightly- mine is now a large amount stiffer (hello cheeky) and the shell itself when on 4 axle stand on flat ground will rock on the stands.

When you actually start measuring alot on the polos you realise they're not very straight to start with, wheelbase, track, stock camber etc. Hence making everything adjustable on mine :-)

The only other thing about suspension is leave the rear axle to mount bolts loose until the weight of the car is on the rear beam, the mounts have a tendancy to pinch the rear beam bushes, which won't help matters.

So do you now get the adjustable TCA's as part of the Stage 3 subframe?
