I've got a mk2f with the black plastic bumpers, they are abit faded and not as black as i would like and my car is red, I'm woundering has anyone ever sprayed the bumper matt black or gloss black and how does it look

i used black shoe polish came out like new

but doit later in the day when is not boiling hot as i dig one bumper in the sun and it came out awful

I spray my bumpers with cheap satin black spray cans. They come up lovely! I dont prime them before hand either, just clean them and get any crap off. Han'some!

Clean the bumpers with cellulose thinners,then give them a couple of coats of satin black,no primer - but use vinyl paint,not acrylic.

Did mine a couple of years ago, only looking tired now where its been nudged in car parks.

invest in a heatgun and just heat over the bumper gently a piece of piss and only takes 5 mins per

you can buy one on ebay for less than £20 best result as they look original a wont need any spray at all really worth as heatguns usful many tasks definatly worth it

already got a heat gun and used it on all my plastics they look loads better but didnt come up as good as i thought so tried the boot polish and worked and treat and seems to be staying on definatly recommend it

I've got a fairly mint condition MK2, I've held back on B-B products for the trim so far. Is there a consensus on the most authentic method of restoring them? if not authentic, the most effective. SO excited about this car!!

heat gun or shoe poslish they are the best too as far as i know from experiance

boiled linseed oil from the diy store , its £2.99 , wipe some on when its a nice day and it makes them mint for months , and no streaks etc

heat gun method is just buy a heat gun from bnq or somewhere like that and then go over the bumper with the heat gun but keep it moving because if u hold it on one spot for too long it will melt the plastic
