does anyone know a good download resource of solidworks? only need it to draw 1 thing, so can be a trail type thing...i did have it but lost it when i formatted computer..or if anyone could send it me that would be sweet.

just want to draw out a flange for a manifold then make a few engineering drawings from it to have it aquacut :)

It's odd how there are no download links on the website. I'm pretty sure if you don't enter a serial it goes into a 30 day trial mode.

The user interface is almost identical, I rate it higher over SolidWorks too..

i have experience of solidworks and prodesktop...but i cant source either now!

Give that inventor trial a whirl, if you can use solidworks you can use that!

Autodesk Inventor is childs play but I cant get my head round solidworks

Solidworks is easy for basic stuff...it's making things like body panels that get me...making each plane and surface blending between etc

Really? I learnt most of soildworksin a day or two. I wouldn't have said there was much in it. Inventtor just seems a lot more slick whereas solidworks can be a bit of a chore with certain things.

That said I haven't tried any of inventors analysis tools yet, butt to be honest inbuilt ones aren't exactly respected, we outgrew cosmos at uni on relatively simple bits.

i tried to download and it installed some 6mb file and i have no idea what that was or where its gone haha :( I'm not patient enough with computers/reading

Hi mate, I have a licenced copy that my uni gave to me. If you can send across dimensions or a description of what you need drawn I can do it for you.

I spent ages trolling about on TPB trying to find one that works, my mate got one to work but I couldn't. As far as we could work out each upload is really specific for the OS your running. I have vista my mate has 7.

I aint doing much these days and i'm always drawing stuff on SolidWorks.

As above, I'm a qualified cad engineer and use it every day so can draw you it up no problem dude.
