nice polo man, wish i could spray as good as you.

Any more plans for it?

That red is amazing! love those wheels too, 52BHP from a P plate 1.0 is quite good!

Mines a V plate 1.4 8v and I don't think it's anywhere near the 55 it's meant to be haha!

 • Author

Cheers Guys :D Paintings alot easier with a compressor and a proper gun.. As for plans I'm not really sure, fancy some new wheels for next year, no idea what though haha. Want to get thsi centre cap sorted though, lost the BBS badge out the middle so looks well naff now :-(

Bit of an update, i have FINALLY managed to get another centre cap for my RZ's ;D biggest pain in the arse ever! Cause they're the Corrado G60 ones and not BMW ones, the Rado boys dont want to get rid of them it seems  and the ones that are for sale are either full sets or overpriced. Saw it on eBay and snapped it up. Happy chappy :)

Trying to look cool B) Thats the car as far over as it will go, so not loads of room to work with, and its not exactly as clean as a spray booth, or as warm, or as well ventilated.. can still taste it now. Better than a drive like

Was doing my CBT at Rocket Centre the other day, and some pleb managed to reverse along my back bumper. Doesnt look like much, but its still annoyed the hell out of me. I've put a fair bit of time and effort into the paint, not that its mint like, but still i was pretty proud of it.

Luckly it hasnt pushed the bumper in, managed to T Cut most of it off, but went through the paint abit :-( so might respray it when i get chance.
Anyways, let us know what you think
Cheers
Tom :D

Looks cool dude, alot of work gone into it!

Love this. Simple yet very effective and the DIY paint looks of a very decent standard!

Cheers guys :) i know its not perfect, but i dont think it looks too bad for the time and money invested :)

This looks well good! Just shows all you need is a decent set of wheels, lows and some good paint to make a car look pretty good. I need some valver bumpers!

Had a good summer at all the shows with the Polo, all the miles have taken their toll abit though. One of my mirrors has a hole chipped in it, it was cracked anyway, so a stone or summat must have just snapped it out. One of the mirrors stopped adjusting aswell, so i think the motor has given up the ghost. Decided it wasnt really worth firing the compressor up and mixing some paint just to paint a mirror, so was after some flash red ones. Managed to get two on ebay for pretty much the price of one, so did alright :) just need to get them fitted now. My front bumpers looking abit worse for wear aswell, absolutely covered in stone chips, looks lke its been shotgunned haha. But i can live with that.

Passed its MOT the other week with no advisories, so happy about that. Chucked a new set of filters and some fresh oil in it aswell, cost me about 20 quid  Hopefully should be okay through winter.

Not to much happening with the Polo, did abit more paint and abit of rust repair on the sill near the wing. Should be alright for a while hopefully :)

Also managed to pick these up cheapy cheap. Fancied some for abit and been struggling to find a full set for not ridiculous money. I wont be a scene queen and say they're rare, more uncommon :) Just not sure whether to keep them as they are or do them yellow?

76985C35-DDCC-4DB1-86E8-1D3C2BDC02EC_zps

I've read the guide about wiring them in. I've got the switch, but its an ibiza one, so its glows up red :/ this will do my head in as everything else is backlit green. So anyone else who's done them, did you use a relay and the fusebox? or can you just run some wires to another switch straight from the fogs with a fuse? My understanding is that you use a relay cause of the current would be to much for a little toggle switch or whatever? is this true? Or is it easier to do it the proper way?

Cheers, any help appreciated :)

Tom :)

The White/Yellow wire ( pin 13) on the headlight switch, is wired direct to the 19 pin disconnect by the radiator top hose, so all you need to do is fit the new headlight switch & run a new wire from the 19 pin disconnect to each of the fog lights & provide an earth for each light by connecting to the Brown wire @ each headlight

 • Author

I had a quick look at the switch and theres no wire to pin 13. So does this mean there wont be one from the fuse box to the big plug under the bonnet?

The wiring from the fusebox to the headlight disconnect is there as standard, I just noticed yours is an early one, so you need to add the wire from the fusebox to the switch ( as covered in the FAQ), No additional relays are required.

 • Author

Ahh okay, i thought you had a to add a new relay in? 53 or something? but does it use the one for the rear fog which is already there? Thanks for your help mate
