Hi there all.

First of, I'd like to ask who is local to me and knows there way about the mk2 polo coupe s.

I can't get it to start no matter what i try and no I have no idea what's the problem with it.

What I'm after is someone local to come round an have a look over it to find:

A) Whats wrong with the car

And

B) how much it will cost to get it ready for an mot.

Shouldnt be anything costly whatever it is dude, there very reliable and cheap to fix if they've been maintained well.

Firstly, have you checked if you have a spark from all plugs? there's definetly fuel coming from the carb? Good way to check is too take off the pan filter and press the accelerator linkage down, fuel should spray from the accellerator pump - this should be enough to get it to fire....

I don't no the history of the car chap I'm afraid, well I know it's been sat for 3 yrs doing bugger all. And I'm not getting fuel or a spark. Changed the carb on it as when I took her in I was informed that the control on the throttle was fucked. you press accelerator and let off but it wouldn't return to idle position. Just stayed open. It (reportedly) used to eat rotor arms rather regularly.
