Firstly, i appologise for using the term JDM. haha.

Bought this from a guy in Portsmouth, on eBay coils, tacky black indicators, and generally a bit tatty, dented all over, stone chipped to death, people who cant park scuffing bumper corners ( It's a polo, not a fucking limo! )

So i brought it back up norf, and basically i love it!

First item was remove the shafted back box, found a nice jap style backbox on here, and it sounds amazing, not much different to my mates EP3CTR with a Fujitsi exhaust!

Yeah, i cut a valver bumper, but i dont care, it's my car haha.

Second port of call was the dodgey idling problem, cleaned out inlet manifold, throttlebody, removed EGR valve, oil catch tank to stop the PCV spewing crap back into the TB. it held it's idle after being VAGCOM'd for about a week before it decided it was gonna rev on its own again.

Carbs are more my cup of tea any how, so i need some bike carbs! Already have my manifold flange, just need my carbs and to make the manifold.

Decided we'd sort my rust problems out, that soon escalated!

Duckbill style wing was custom made from a 6N Wing, and another car manufacturer standard item!

Pff thats why i said loosely haha, Jap spec exhaust, spoiler was inspired by my mates EP3 Mugen one ( Shape of the top of the wing, has a nice curve ).

Gearbox oil being changed this weekend, i've got 3 litres of VAG Stuff, or is there anything better people would reccomend? The box itself isn't too bad, just pops out of reverse, but since i'm never reversing that far it doesnt bother me haha.

Exterior wise, possibly purchased some wheels, 4x114 though, so will need adaptors.

Mugen rep splitter on it's way, if it looks good then yeah, if not, back on eBay haha.

Cage is being measured sometime in the future, just need me some perches and harnesses then!

2.7 according to automata. Yeah I know it won't solve my reverse issue, that's a strip down job, but it can't do it any harm

Making up my manifold at the moment, going to do a better job than most i've seen though!

somthing that could be interesting just as an idea would be to use a template off a carbon fibre civic eg front splitter and slam it on the polo i would try it myself but dont have the funds

mine did that when starting m8 , then it would not start at all had to bump start it everywhere i went lol . turn out to be the ignition switch after i kill 2 battery , changed the coil pack god know how many times . Dave

It's not the Ign Switch, cus it just doesnt have the charge to start the car.

Need an electrical tester to check cranking amps, and charging amps really.

For the brake's i believe the mk3 golf's did too! i got a fresh new set of my mate cabriolet and they are 280mm's :)

which ones though, 1.8s have 256s none vented, GTIs are 5 stud!
