Mk4 golf gti non turbo 125bhp

Featured Replies

Right, where to start?!

I have owned the golf for several months now and it has been super reliable. Just yesterday it took me on a 220 mile round trip without missing a beat. It starts, runs and drives excellently.

It is MOT'd and taxed until November, has 147k on the clock ( the previous owner was a mechanic and said that he had changed the cambelt, waterpump etc, although I have no proof of this).

It has BBS Montreal 2 alloys with good tyres although the alloys could do with a refurb.

It had one new ball joint fitted yesterday and the other one will be supplied with the car - the reason for this is that they were very worn and the steering wheeel vibrates when braking from high speed.

There are minor dinks and imperfections on the bodywork but nothing major, just age related stuff.

Underneath is extremely solid - I've had a look and the only imperfection under there is a slightly bent sill where someone has jacked it up badly.

In summary, this car is extremely reliable, safe and cheaper to insure than a turbo. It has problems, not many and none of them serious, just dont be expecting a minter.

I hope I haven't made the car sound bad in this description cos it really is in good condition and the engine has no faults whatsoever.

EDIT- Cant believe I forgot to mention this - the exhaust is loud!! Whether you see that as a positive or negative point is up to you but personally, it does my head in!

Priced at £950 for a start to see if I get any interest. I  paid more than this and have made improvements to the car but I do realise that MK4 prices have dropped in the last few months.

Also, I will knock £100 off if you bring your own wheels.
