MK5/6N2 Clock Removal

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Thought i'd post a how to guide, for 6N2 clock removal. I appreciate this is very easy for most people, but when I searched the net there wasn't really any guide or pics.

I think its always good to have a look before you do it. You a Torx screwdriver/ratchet set to do this.

You start by removing the screw under the trim, above the dials.

The trim should then just pull forward and you'll be left with image below. You then need to remove the 3 screws circled.

After that has been removed, remove the 2 screws below to demount the clocks.

When you pull the clocks up, they will be slightly held by 2 connectors running to either side. One connector is blue and one is green. Just pull the arm up and it will simply pop out.

If you want to take the back of the clocks to investigate further, it is simply 7 little screws. It does get a little tricky inside so I've stopped for now until I have some back up clocks....... just in-case

I know this be an ancient thread. But i cant find nout elsewhere.....ive removed screw as per first pic and it wont slide out....the whole thing seems to come with it....with barely any play and alot of  force 😕

https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/2001-240/8/857-857010/  remove the two screws #15 this allows #13 to be removed, then remove the three screws #19 that allows #18 to be removed, that will then give you access to the two screws #6 in this  https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/2001-240/9/920-920000/  and that will allow the speedo unit to be removed

Thats not my dash 😞 mines a 6n2 se? Ill try use that website . Cheers tho 🙂
