Love it!! some good choices there, which i know i put my vote towards at least 2. Was surprised about Kiz's car coming 4th considering the amount of work put into creating it and the time/effort and innovation it has...

but it was a fair judge since we all voted for the car's we liked ourselves. :-D

I was very suprized that your car wasn't placed as a well sanj, but like you say we all had our votes

well mate...it was all about the taking part for me, plus i think theres a pattern emerging...i win 5th in 2008, then 2nd in 2010...fingers crossed i get 1st in 2012- one can dream right!

thanks to those who voted...regardless of the outcome, i think its great how its judged and hopefully next year there will be a larger variety of models- mk5/mk6/mk7's...

Marquee- get a smaller one and use the spare cash to perhaps buy in some cakes/donuts so upon entry you get a free donut! krispy kreme- box of 12 for like £10...think how many could be bought with the cash

i think the biggest shock was urs sanj not placing- i thought it would win/2nd to the yellow mk1.

and as an idea to the organisers-

I heard several people comment on the fact the voting wasnt right- why didnt you give everyone or every car who came to the show a voting slip???

oh and the marquee, wtf! ok i know we had it incase we had a downpour- but because we never it wasnt used? - why didnt anybody think of any ideas on how to use it? maybe next year have the marquee and fill it with something regardless of the weather? like a band, comedian or anything

We've thought about possibly rejigging the system Kiz, but it seems to work the best this way round and bigger shows pull it off quite well (e.g. Inters) plus getting back 30 slips can be difficult enough, let alone 180!

To answer all three of these, Guy, strippers could be interesting and to Rob and Kiz, we've always had one in case of torrential downpour, however we have tried to put stuff on in there, I'm not out to make excuses here, we've hopefully managed to procure the services of a DJ for next year (club member who offered his services on Sunday :-)) and we're banding around the idea of a fancy-dress night for the saturday, shame we can't just get the tables and chairs separatly

This said, we welcome suggestions from members as to what we can do with it, club's 10th anniversary next year so we'll hit it big time next year :-D

Next year I'm bring 4/5 mates with cars - thats potentially another 20 odd points which would bump me higher up the list lol =D tbh my entry this year though was all about what people thought of it in its current state...2012 will see alot of changes =D

i have to agree with the above! i knew only guy really at that show and got to know everyone for the first time so I'm shocked i got as many points as i did.

i voted for the mk1- but i didnt really see it as a show and shine- i just loved it. the cleanest car there wasnt even in the top 5, so i dont know what things everyone was voting on.

With so many extremely clean and well moded cars on display i was suprised to finish in 2nd place.

tttt......find me a 34yr old car in original condition that has no rust at all, mine has a total area of rust of around 0.005%, of which are stonechips!!!

Of the top 5 placed cars, excluding mine, at least 3, or if not all four of them have had a full respray or some kind of paint work, although in your opinion i should not have been allowed to enter "show and shine" because of the 0.005% rust. ("as you can't shine rust")

I didn't show and shine my car at the polo show, i showed it.

You mentioned above (my entry this year though was all about what people thought of it in its current state) as was my "minta" and everyone else's car.
