Seems a lot of people taking off the fuel injection and fitting carbs. seems like a backwards move to me!

Anyone got one up and running on ITB's and know what power they are getting?

Long time ago, Nick Wilson (I think) had a 1.4 16v with itbs and I think his special 4 branch exhaust and made 140 bhp, the engine was otherwise stock I believe

Andi on clublupo (Tigz was his username) must have his 1.4 16v up and running on throttles by now, might be worth a look on the lupo forum, as there should be some info on Mitch's 1.6 AFH on bodies on there too

Tigz has seen the light and gone 20vt now

Mitch's hybrid engine sounds unreal, but there have been some issues getting it there iirc.

So.... 2 1/2 years later, how are things progressing?

Anyone passed 150bhp yet?

I believe Dom is running 173bhp or something close to that. But he swapped the engine (thankfully) from the 6n to a mk2. Think it was due to the 6n rotting.

EDIT. Bilco is now running a G lump so he's out of the question.

Since when was bilcos 140bhp?! I remember him having it dynod and it was under 120?!

My 1.6 should hopefully be going on some rollers soon

Bilco made Bogg bros figures, wasn't it 110hp or something when he went a different RR?

1.6 wise Dan (renegade) made 153&156hp (two differrent RRs) as an AFH/AVY with bike carbs and reground cams..

Engines now in my possession and being rebuilt and going on Jenvey ITBs, be happy with ~160hp to be honest.

Guy didn't yours make 137(?)hp at aldon on standard injection as a 1.6?

Higgo's standard AFH with a standard mk1 exhaust and an induction kit made 119hp at Aldon too.

Wasn't Mitch's lupo running around 180hp when he sold the conversion?

I think ~145-150hp is around bench mark for a 1.6 AFH with carbs, dependant on what ignition people are using, perhaps slightly more with ITBs.

heg's made decent power in his 6n rally car with regrinds and ITBs, can't remember the figures now will have a look in a minute!

AFH's have made 130+ as 1.4's on bike carbs with amazing mk2 dizzys too..

right then boys and girls she is finally back alive but on a lesser spec engine whilst we iron out some issues with the other engine. been on the rolling road today to be mapped and here are the results.

engine spec:

1.6 avy/afh hybrid.

newman reground cams.

gsxr 1300 throttle bodies

MBE 9A4 management

172bhp at the flywheel

144lb/ft torque at the flywheel.

Criz16vs engine is in doms mk2 now and made 168bhp on itbs and a 1.6 bottom end

I'm going Jenvey Throttle bodies on my afh/avy hybrid with ported head, VW Motorsport 4 branch manifold and competition exhaust system.......

Just a shame its only gonna be used for racing.......round a field..

Mine is now an '05 Seat Leon 1.6 16v BCB lump entirely, but for the '01 AVY crank case I'm using for the up-squirters and 085 gearbox bolt pattern.

38mm CBR900RR carbs, on my own brew steel inlet manifold. AVY 4-1 exhaust manifold and Lupo downpipe, so all steel and no cat.

The MK2 TCi-H electronic ignition system is letting it down a little, no idea what power it's running.

I no longer run a single AFH specific component.

So technically then, I'm out..

Yeah nick mine made 137 at aldon with a pretty much standard setup (1.6 afh hybrid, afh injection, filter and exhaust).

Currently boosting mine so I'll see what difference an eaton makes
