welli know its not a polo but i do have a coupe lol and a vento but this thread is for the 1988 golf 1.6cl i just rescued from going to scrap, bout this for £180 with almost a years MOT but no tax runs a little rough but already has fk coilovers on it

Stick.a webber on it that'll make it run better cos those pierburg ones a rubbish!! That's prob why it runs crap, the baseplate is rubber and will be perished!!

I doubt fitting a GTi camshaft would make it go like stink either

i got a folder full of reciepts with the car one of which is for a 32/34 dmtl carb kit, when i strip the airbox off ill know

Also, if your looking for abit more power/efficiency...have a look what jet sizes its running, they'll be room for improvement.

When your looking at the top of the carb there will be 4 little brass things, they will all have a flat on the top of them so you can screw them out.

The numbers should be stamped onto the side of them.

What's the other side of the car like? If its as clean as the pictured side looks then it's a lovely find :-)
