Seems it'll be about £160 for polybushes all round! Anyone bought one of these kits and can comment on the durability of the bushes?

That's for a G40 so you'll be missing a pair of track control arm bushes.

Yeah dude I was gonna get some of those strongflex TCA bushes that max suggested on ebay. You had any experience with the G-lader bushes? Just trying to find out whether it's worth getting a set including the ARB blocks, or just to get the ARB blocks by themselves, then get rear beam and ARB bushes elsewhere from powerflex or somethin!

I personally wouldn't bother with the rear beam bushes, they are very hard indeed. Especially for just road use.

Just get some PPP ARB blocks, and strongflex TCA bushes. Be about £100 for the lot. :-)

Rear end feels pretty awful too though, do they make the ride really crashy or something?

Feels good to be progressing with it at last :-D

Wheels look awesome mate. The stretch really works on yours much better than when they were on my lupo. Whats happening to the centres?

Cars looking good

I've gone for all G-laderseite stuff then powerflex inner TCA bushes on mine.

15-20mm spacers should do it i reckon.

I had 10mm on mine and that was a pain with the copper brake line and the handbrake etc.

Then again, Rob had daft ones on here before so might be OK

Thanks again for the wheels mate! I'm super glad i bought em now! :-D

I tried the centers out but i'm quite enjoying the look of running without them for the moment! Think I'm gonna machine some small caps for the holes in the middle of the wheels just to tidy it up somewhat.

I'm gonna go with hubcentric spacers Toby, cant be assed faffing with extending handbrake cables. Hopefully I won't go through any wheel bearings, I figure it shouldn't be too bad as these are already high offset wheels.

How much are the powerflex TCA bushings?

I'm pretty sure you can get centre caps with a vw logo the right size for the little holes I've seen them I'm sure. Mayby get some wheel nut covers for the bolts from vw too will look stupidly tidy then :-D

colour coded centers.... you KNOW it'd look sick, possibly?

I cant remember How much the bushes were, not too much. I got em off an eBay seller. Cheaper than ordering direct from powerflex.

No.

I dunno, I've got it in my head that it could actually look cool.

What ever happened to the CC'd bumpers?

  • Author

Don't know mate, think rob straight swapped em with some guy aaggeess ago! they looked shit anyway haha. I'm a big fan of all black bumpers tho

My god that is beautiful! P slots look amazing

Love it jon, always had so much love for this car. The way your going with it is sweet too, wouldnt change a thing really. apart from maybe some standard shape plates?

Lovely colour. Lovely car!

I really arnt a fan of P-slots, but these look sick man, light silver paint and a slightly stretched tire make all the difference! looks sweet man!

  • Author

Being honest with you I really wasn't a fan of P-slots either

But glad now I put these on, I'm enjoying them a lot! :-)

Cheers for the comments lads!

Yes you can get little plastic round VW centre caps that would fit the hole in the middle. Could look sweet.

Car looks awesome as do the wheels. Nice to see you back fiddling with a car albeit a little bit more of a sensible direction :-)
