Thanks dude :-)

Not sure what to do to it next after i space the rears to be honest. There's a big fat scratch on the passenger side rear quarter that is getting sorted in the next couple of weeks as well as a good machine polish all over to get rid of all the swirls/ defects.

Was thinking about putting a Corrado rear bench in to match the fronts... I've heard it's not difficult!

Anyone news on the rado rears dude? Been offered a full set for a snatch but he won't split.

I looked into it and found out it wasn't actually as easy as I was first told! However, a friend of mine just bought a full Corrado interior and is planning on fitting the rear seats.. so i will be back with a report when he has finished it haha.

Just bought some mk1 golf hubs/ coilovers/ vented discs/ VW11 calipers... upgrades soon :-)

Want the above list tbh.

I have half, the brakes side of things, where you get the hubs n coilies from? its odd but i cant find any 2nd hand coilies for shit :?

I just won the calipers/discs/hubs on ebay for 40 quid... winning :unibrow: Nobody else even bidded!

nice person!

I just bought some VW11's that are fucked.

Add said they were powdercoated, and he wasnt wrong... nipples, rubbers, sliders, the lot.. powdercoated

Need all new rubbers n seals, and now have one snapped nipple.. Great :anger:

Hahaha, sounds shit!

Can't wait to get back to uni now and machine up some steering arms! Been meaning to do it for aaageess

  • Author

oh yeah and dont wanna piss on your bonfire anymore but just managed to get two outer cv joints for 12 quid... they're meant to be 40 each :unibrow:

Bastard!

Machine me some arms up too yeah.. Saves me having to get bare struts to chop up ;)

Let me know how much you want...

oo oo oo, what size tyres are you looking at getting on the psluts?

I'm finding it a nightmare finding a decent looking size for 14x6's :(

195/45/14 eventually mate! I'm enjoying the lack of grip of the 155/55/14's at the moment though, lift off oversteer

Thats the conclusion id come to, but people say its a bit big.

I dunno though... probs will get them in the end.

195/45 on a 6j is fine, looks pretty good. Nice and flat.

I'm running 195/45/14's on my Rials(6J), they're Falken i think from camskill.com

Second set I've had, and always found them a very good tyre for the money, I tried Uniroyals but didnt like them as much

Paypal takes minutes to setup mate! Do it

On another note... getting a set of mk1 coilies, hubs, gti brakes and vented discs has cost me a total of £110. WHY ON EARTH would anyone want shock and spring kits anymore!

Thought I should update this since I've been doing some more purchasing!

Finally got some 20mm spacers for the back.

Bought some new wheels :unibrow:

Got my coilover setup sorted (waiting on coilies to be delivered - last set got lost in the post after waiting two months for them to come through! )

That lot will be going on at Christmas along with some other goodies!

And a shot of it in the car park at my flat

What wheels u going for or is it all a secret ?

  • Author

Nah it's not a secret I'm not gay like Toby Bradshaw

Mattig SSFs with 165/55/13's, Some of you may think I'm mad but they will work well, trust me 8-)

They aren't going on till the Coilovers are on too so I can get it sitting bang on! No RR or silly arch gap on 13s here

Only problem is that at the moment they're bright pink, gonna need a respray before they go anywhere near the car haha.

Plan in the long term is sell both sets of wheels and get some RM's!

15's are too big :( (RM's)

15's arent too big, all depends on fitment and being able to adjust the suspension.

I want some 15's as winters, pure tuck..

  • Author

15's are Ideal! There's a photo of a white G40 on RM's floating around... sits bang on (well, almost  )

Nah will be waiting till I get home for Christmas, then I'll have some actual space to work on the car! Just need to get some new wheel bearings, nipples/seals for my new brakes too.

I dunno what Colour to paint the wheels though, ideas? There's an Indian red Gt on chocolate brown colour Mattig SSF's that looks dope but I don't wanna out an out copy that!

  • Author

Nah serious it's like, bright pink, they were on a girl's lupo!

Yeah I think you're right to be honest, a standard grey/ gunmetal should do it.

Also toying with the idea of buying two 7" standard wellers for the rear... Theres a black GT with that setup and its rude!

But you have to be low to tuck Toby.....

You never get bored do you? I did a looong time ago....
