On a serious note, grey FTMFW

Mattigs for the win!! One of my all time favourites on a polo. Did you get the centres with them? They are a bitch to find second hand. Although i think they look awesome with VW G60 centres (or similar) as they fit like a glove.

Mattig VW centres

Guy had a grey set on a red polo on here a long time back and it looked good.

I'd stick with silver though. Silver wheels with your paint just works so well.

Car is looking awesome.

I've still got some of this gun grey metallic left at home...

:unibrow:

Polomon, I mean 7" wellers out back, mattigs up front!

Nahh, thats too dark IMO

Needs to be a grey.

They were all sparkly in the sun though :-(

Haha nah you're right, I still have some of this other paint left too...

They are like hens teeth on these shores. Can buy them from the motherland but when looking they looked about £30+postage.... i thought oh not bad. Turns out that was for one

They do look nice with the centres you have in the garage. Could be a stop gap until something shows up.

Too silvery pffft. With how nice your car looks with its OE charm i wouldn't start putting some gash coloured wheels on. Dark wheels wouldn't compliment the paint. Look how good the P slots look. Silver wheels on metallic mk3's for the win.

Edited by demolover

Yeah, they do show up from time to time.

I mean i got some PLS caps (set of 4) for £50... Possibly the rarest item i own, especially as i now have 7

They are literally impossible to get hold of. But i just stumbled upon um the week i bought the PLS :o

I looked on a lot of mini websites, as they do loads of different sized centers. Midlandwheels is a good one...

Midlandwheels is a good one...

Was going to mention midland wheels as i looked on there when i was debating some wellers.

B-shaw....you lucky swine. The same week you bought them? Bet you couldn't believe it.

  • Author

Just found some BRM centrecaps on midlandswheels.... definitely having a set of those! F1 theme

haha yeah. It was lucky i was buying the wheels off a mate.. As if he hadnt let me owe another £50 on um id have never got um lol.

Gluing those fuckers in when i fit them lol.

Dont get me wrong, silver looks good... but a sick grey.... even better.

Fuck it... copy it Shilling!

Nothing else will look better

Nah fuck that,

Silver looks way way better,

Nice and classy. Non of this random colour shit, orange for instance.

  • Author

Naaah think max knows. Will obvs ssit better than that one, so

the silver you used on the p's worked really well against the colour of the car so if i were you i would be looking for something like that again. are the mattigs staggered offsets?

  • Author

Yeah I think you are right to be honest! They aren't staggered offsets but I have some 20mm spacers, so effectively it will be like having 13x7 Et20 up front and 13x7 Et0 out back so should sit just right! :-)

that should make for a winning combo. et 20 on a 7j is good fitment up front and them 20mm's should work well out back. get cracking with it!

Looking good dude! Another lover of the mattigs 8-)

I just got some SSF's in 14 x 7 ET24 for the G, shame one of the lips took a hella dent en-route

I have some on my golf in 13 x 7 et 3 and 20 with 175/50's, has abused the chassis sitting that low

Knowing you though, you'll be sitting gangster!

8-) They are a lovely wheel!

Haha really! I'm hoping with the Mk1 golf coilies with steering arms welded on at the bottom of the thread there won't be any banging of steering arms! Driveshafts should be fine also, never had any problems with them on my old car.

I'm gonna have to re-make all the fuel lines in copper piping again to stop rippages, the joy!

Edited by Iscariot

Yeah, prob worth doing. the mk1 golfs have steel fuel hoses. Could ye not run them through the inside of the car like the early mk1 golfs?
