Nahh it's the second one as far as i know, theres not a huge amount of service history with the car!

I painted the whole thing with zinc paint but also put underseal round the join between the filler neck/ tank so that should stop any corrosion getting to it!

Ahh you learn something new every day. Yeah must be the third tank then! Was looking at yours just the other day and was thinking that I don't actually know of any other indian red genuine GT's - potentially ours are the only two in the UK unless theres some hiding!

Rob - No doubt it will be for sale once i finish Uni and get into a job! :-)

New wheel an boss, driving position is so much better now!

just gets better and better.

Ahhhhh man! That's depressing - I nearly got a set of 14in Mattigs last year but got messed around. Seeing this has reminded me how awesome they'd have looked!

Cool car dude!

Looks well dude. :) specs on the wheels and tyres?

wheel looks lovely! I've got dished omp wheel in my mk2 but its a 350mm one so looks massive! haha

  • Author

Cheers boys! :-)

The wheels are 13x7 ET20 with 20mm spacing out back, it sits really nicely to be honest, near enough flush both back and front. (ill get some proper pics soon enough)

I prefer the handling on 13's, feels like a proper little go kart.

I love the wheel, not sure how big it is, 330mm maybe? just right!

Got rid of my shitty headunit and dash speakers too - whacked my VW din blanking plate in.

Whats with the gearstick gaitor? doesn't look like a genuine GT one to me.

Love the interior and the car looks great at the moment. Wouldn't change a thing.

looks the same as my mk2 golfs one

Arr the gearstick gaitor was fucked so I replaced it with that one! Didn't realise there was GT specific ones. Need to get me one of those!

Wondering about fog lights too - I know they're a pig to get hold of/ expensive but I've heard BMW E30 ones fit... am i right?

my pal had one of these on his saxo, pretty cheap arent they.

i still think a team 280 or 300 would look better though.

lovely car anyway mate, keep up the good work.

Love the way this is heading, definitely approve of the radio blank!

You sure there's no chance the AEE is gonna make it into this? :p

Yeah man it's a wheel from Rally Design :) Didn't see the point in paying triple the price for corsica which is essentially the same!

Not a great fan of the teams in mk3's to be honest, they're a little too modern for my liking.

@ Andrew - naaah AEE's not making it into this! The only thing that is worthy of this is a G turbo but i could never afford that

Haha, you can dream right?

Wouldn't mind having a gander at this, it looks stupidly clean in the photos.. puts my newer Golf to shame

I.LOVE.THIS.CAR.....prefer it on the P's though :ninja:

Any progress with the airbox design dude,

All i've got so far is volume, inlet design/shape/size, and distance of carb inlets to airbox walls...

Any help?

want

@Max - real busy at the moment, haven't really had time to do anything apart from what you've already done; knocked up a few designs on solidworks ready for fluid testing so I'll have results on what works best in terms of design in the next 3 weeks or so.

Rob - buy it back off me! PS, back in Derby now, come visit, lets get hammered

Also next thing on the list, gonna cut out holes in my DIN blank and put some gauges in - oil pressure/ oil temp/ water temp, although I'm not sure which ones to get, can anyone recommend?

No worries mate,

Let us know how you get on.

Realised that my MOT ran out in October the other day... meaning I'd been driving it around for 3 months illegally aha. Woops!

Anyway, replaced a few bits and bobs, undersealed a few areas, gave her a wash....

I will eventually get some proper pictures! All I have is the shitty camera on my blackberry at the moment unfortunately though.

I need a drivers side light as mine has a crack in it, anyone got one kicking around?

Sure i have a pair. I'll have a look when i go to the garage.

Coming to the RR?
