Wires in my washer jets - why?

Featured Replies

I have just been looking closely under the bonnet of our 6N and noticed that both of the washer jets have wires going to them that seem to be part of the original wiring loom.

What are they? Are they heated washer jets for Scandanavian type countries and if so why are they on a UK model?

Yeah you're right, these sound like heated washer jets.

Probably a dealer-option specified at the time of purchase.

Unknown upgrade, nice one!

Yeah I just had a look at EKTA and found the part. I have no idea how you operate the heater function though, does anyone??

Usually comes on with the rear heated screen or permanently on when the ignition is on

Cool - cheers for that.

No worries

upto Sept 97 they are fed via fuse #5 15 amp and post Sept fuse #18 7.5 amp and are supplied all the time the engine is running

They get pretty hot too, in the winter they melted about a 2" circle of snow around them.
