small update:

Picked up another set of coilovers off of a mate. These allowed him to go lower without removing his helpers!

Anyway, haven't had the time to do the fronts yet, however got the rears cleaned up and fitted the other day.

18D1F8FA-96CD-4E32-8F20-32C1C85D59ED-187

They had been sitting for about 8 months, so cleaned them up and greased them.

E78DB8F7-2A70-4259-BEC5-3DE7D14486EB-187

Sits nicely, however need to raise it as it looks silly with the front being higher and can't lower the front yet

Adjusting the heights tomorrow. Unfortunately driver side rubs slightly too :/ so will need some arch rolling!

Right, so last week I decided to get the roof finished.

A local company had assebled the new top cover for me and was ready to collect. So last tuesday set about ripping out the old roof and putting in the new one.

Two sliders had fallen out of the roof being recovered, so my roof had to be taken apart to find where they went.

Managed to clear some space in my mum's garage! Not had a car in there since we moved in 10 years ago

Then proceded with removing the old roof.

Then fitted the new roof

Only problem, roof fucking leaks more than the last one  bleddy typical.

It's being stripped apart again this week and the cables down the side tightened and repositioned. Water's managing to get under the fabric where the fabric presses against the seal >.<

Oh what a great idea an open air was lol. Seriously tempted by a Corrado right now.....

Anyway, did a service the weekend before

Will update soon

Polo is still residing here unfortunately

Roof has been a bit of a bellend. Been horrendously busy, however hope to sort it all out by end of next week.

I did however, purchase a new window regulator (waiting for it to arrive) and gave the polo a wash (avoiding the roof )

Been trying to get hold of these for a while now, however the other week I finally managed to find some which meant I could actually wire in my rear lights properly! (excuse shite photo)

So that's now all sorted.

I also bought a small sub off of a friend and fitted that today.

Roof is still leaking like a nice person.

Right so bit of an update!

So being fed up with the roof leaking and being pissed off with the new roof, last week I ordered another open air roof  this time it came off of a 01 plate Lupo!

It arrived after two days and I set about fitting it. The previous week a mate and I had also rented out a unit that came up right next door to our friends unit, so had all the space to do so!

null_zps56ed352d.jpg

null_zps204cc39c.jpg

null_zps8cd50d50.jpg

All happy with how the roof fitted, I tried opening it however the motor was making a horrendous noise. At first i thought the roof was buggered, however after trying my old spare motor it turned out to be the motor that was the problem! Got the roof open, cleaned the runners and regreased them. Which meant it could lead to this :D

null_zps1a336a57.jpg

After a few days and leak tests, all is good and no leaks! which meant the carpet and interior could go back in for the first time in over a year! :)

null_zps10808e88.jpg

I also drilled out the old supports behind the door rear door cards and did a 6n2 rear speaker conversion.

null_zps0024e639.jpg

Carpet back in.

null_zpsbf9fef67.jpg

Phone died shortly after that, so will update again in a couple of days. Need to buy some speakers for the back and then refit the door cards. Also have a non abused parcel shelf in now, so the 6x9's are up for sale.

such a nice car mate, good to see you finally got the roof sorted, been following you on instagram for ages and only just found this build, been reading it for the past hour or so haha

Yes yes yes!!! Fixed roof ftw :D
