Sounds good mate! Look forward to seeing this progress.

Cheers boyo! ;d

Some goodies arrived the other day, got around to fitting them on Saturday!

(not the best pictures, using my shitty phone camera  )

Surprisingly that took me 2 hours. 1 Bolt rounded off and I only had a file, a screw driver and a hammer to try and get it out with :disgust: anyway, got it off in the end and cleaned up the slam panel a bit (after picture was taken)

Fortunately I managed to source a left foglight surround off of Pepe  Cleaned that up and gave it a fresh coat of paint. So currently the front end is looking like this:

Hoping to get some better pictures soon!

Tempted to order some yellow tint for the fog lights, however i'm unsure atm and also skint so that will have to wait!

Also my lower passenger glovebox that sits under the airbag from Germany has turned up!

Haven't got around to fitting it yet, however I reckon it's going to take some modifying to fit..

Oh and hoping to strip out the carpet this week and seal up the floorpan as i've got soaking driver footwell :( It was coming in through the door so that will get sealed up too!

Another Small update... (if anyone's actually looking  ):

Popped down to VW today to pick up the parts I needed to fix my lock and also some new bungs for the floorpan.

IMAG0914.jpg

IMAG0917.jpg

Also my new headlight switch arrived!

IMAG0915.jpg

IMAG0916.jpg

Seat Ibiza headlight switch that has the option for front and back foglights and also headlight adjustment... I did have a switch that could operate the fogs, however it made my headlights all wonky as it didn't have the electronic adjustment and was an older style switch!

Anyway, got it for a tenner off of ebay ;)

However I did forget that Seat's had red led backlights...

IMAG0921.jpg

Not the best picture but you can see lol.

I actually kind of like the red.

Will update next when I have sealed the floorpan and will hopefully have better quality pictures!

Oh and Merry Christmas! :D

Cheers

Dave

I'm looking! :D haha.

That switch, how does the headlight adjustment bit work? Do you have to have udrated standard headlights??

So I got around to stripping out the carpet today;

Just before the carpet was removed (removing that dc sticker too...):

IMAG0928.jpg

Removed the carpet, what I didn't realise was that the rear footwell was worse than the front!

IMAG0932.jpg

IMAG0933.jpg

Instant stream of water!

IMAG0935.jpg

IMAG0936.jpg

That's actually all water there ^

I thought that there was a bung missing in the floorpan there, however there isnt :/ the bung that's missing is right under the arch so it cant get through to the inside (directly).

I'm guessing, that when I noticed the roof leak and also a leak down past the bonnet release cable, was that it had done this for a while before i noticed it. The fact the drivers door had been leaking didn't help this matter :/

The top layer of floor is a tiny bit fooked mind, is this normal btw / is the circle in the floorpan meant to be there? I pushed down on a corner and it went down to another layer of white floorpan beneath it?

IMAG0938.jpg

So the carpet and drivers side sound deadening is currently stripped out, going to clean the whole area tomorrow and shove a bung in the hole under by the arch to see if this helps.

IMAG0939.jpg

I've put my drivers seat back in for now, however going to leave everything out to dry and also to see if I can spot any leaks in the next week or so!

Will be giving the carpet a good valeting too!

On a side note, fixed my drivers door lock :) picking up the parts to fix my passengers lock tomorrow!

Ah right haha forgot he had a build thread on there! Cheers bud, Yeah the RZ's do look much smarter, was tempted to look at the RA's as the guy lives stupidly close to me ;/

Yeahh man I think I'll just stick with my RZ's for now, might look into getting the 15" versions at some point but just need to get mine finished and get some tyres!

Carpet and sound deadening now fully dried out!

Will be putting them back in at somepoint, going to attempt to valet the carpet first before putting it back in :)

Carpet put away properly :ninja:

IMAG0961.jpg

Also got bored the other evening whilst leaving town late:

IMAG0957.jpg

I really need to stop using my phone camera...

Will actually sort the overfuelling and more important issues out this month!

Also my handbrake plate inside the car came un-riveted so that needs welding down :(

Thanks man :)

I've picked up a new thermostat, housing and seal from VW this week, all I need now is the inlet gaskets and VAC hosing and I can set about fitting all the parts!

Hopefully this will sort the overfuelling problem, Gonna be seriously pissed if it makes no difference...wouldn't surprise me though

Oh I've also given my car a nice wash today! First time I've cleaned it since October

  • Author

I have now got all the parts together to hopefully stop the overfuelling and sticky thermostat :)

Getting my engine tray removed tomorrow and then hopefully cracking on with fitting the parts on Saturday

Fitting new thermostat, seal and housing, Inlet manifold Gaskets, Thrust/MAF Sensor and also replacing all the VAC hosing. Also need to check the charge across the battery due to it cutting out the other night!

Anyway, met up with Coreymk3 the other night and took some photo's 8-)

Not really any updates, just a few pictures taken from the SW-Dubs meet at exeter and budleigh salterton. 220 cars were counted at Exeter Services!

My car looks gash, needs more lows and new wheels. Also want to do something with the front end as I'm not feeling the debadged grille anymore or clear indicators.

Also i've been reallllly slack and STILL not fitted the thrust sensor, inlet gaskets or new thermostat

>.<

Anyway, only a few snaps of my car whilst there
