Although an actual update on the wheels - center caps are all now I'm primer and ready for paint

Also central locking has completely gone :( think it might be the fuses as it doesnt even make a noise

Take the vacuum pump out the boot and check it for moisture, then dry it out.

Should work after that.

Also the BBS' are finally getting refurbed! ;)

Will upload pictures as they come. Service and rocker cover gaskets to be changed next.

Got them from VW. Go into vw and tell them that they do make them. They have to double click on the rocker cover and then deselect the rocker cover in the order form. Both gaskets are £15 each (spark plug and outer gasket).

And yeah haha, tempted to get a custom built up! lol no chance mate ;)

Small update:

So the BBS' are sanded back and the curbing is pretty much sorted now, will be primered this week :)

Bought a new central locking pump and door seals off of harris' 6n that will be arriving in the next couple of days, also rocker cover is going to be polished up by a friend when I do the gaskets.

Tyres are also going to be ordered next week ;)

Met up with my mate earlier this evening with his mk2 golf and took some pictures, his golf really makes my polo look high :(

On side note, might be selling my current coilovers (JOM 100mm ones) and buying some ones off of Phil J to go lowerrer. (anyone interested let me know)

Also I now have central locking again 8-) thanks to Harris, aswell as door seals and interior wing mirror trim pieces which mine have been broken since bought lol.

So, updates!

Good news...

Bought a new set of coilovers from PhilJ! Set about fitting them straight away ;d

Haven't got a picture of how it's sitting for now, mainly as still tinkering and adjusting a proper set height for these.....

e5f6418e.jpg

After a whole year, they are finally done

a598d17e.jpg

Not the best job, but will do for now. Tinkering tomorrow so more pictures to come.

Bad news front.. managed to snap a wheel bolt in my front hub :( (my own fault, over tightening whilst chatting to a mate)

Also when going to replace the bearing under the top mount, the new bolt on the coilover managed to take thread off of the new strut :| By this i mean the top half of thread is thinner than the bottom half. The bolt went on fine, I would have noticed straight away if it was pissed or something wrong, i've done a fair shair of coilovers before and this has never happened to me :/ After investigating it seems to be down the nut. Instead of using loctite, it uses two pieces of metal that stick out. These have ground away at the thread some how. It has also mashed up my top mount bolt whilst removing it, so picking two new ones up from vw tomorrow.

coiloverthread.jpg

The top picture is the strut that's missing some thread :(

Anyway, hopefully will try get this sorted tomorrow and more pictures to come 8-)
