i dont have the juddering problem though lol i didnt know if its normal when you put them on :s

The reason this happens is because none of you have bothered to disconnect the DIM DIP resistor.

On a mk3 its a tube with yellow wires by the fuse box, on a mk4 its on the drivers side of the engine bay by the lights.

Simples

Edit: Dont know the cause of the juddering issue so no help there I'm afraid, does it do the same with normal bulbs in?

On my mk4 it is below the passenger side indicator, undo the single bolt and pull the indicator out and you will see the yellow connector, just pull it apart and then you will have sidelights again :-)

^^my bad, what i put must be the location on a mk2 golf then....I think.

cheers for the advice the reason i have never bothered doing it because i didnt know if it was normal when yuo installed or not but now i know ill be doing it tomorrow :D

ye, the only issue is that the lowered voltage the ballasts are receiving can damage them but by the sound of things yours are working fine on all other settings.
