I've just pretty much completed an engine swap in my 16v 6n, all has gone pretty well i just cant seem to find where this cable belongs?!

Its part of the fuel injector and throttle body loom if that helps, image below.

Can you see the wire colours? might be able to ident from that, could be the "knock" sensor? mounted below the inlet manifold

One wire is blue and the other is a white/grey colour. Cant seem to see any connections below the inlet?

Those colours would point to it being the Knock sensor or possibly the EGR? see the pic.

Dont suppose you would know if the knock sensor or EGR would majorly effect the engines performance? since its lacking servere power at the minute..

Without the knock sensor the ECU might be running the engine in a degraded setting hence lackof power, the EGR is part of the emmisions control and has limited effect

I hope it is! because its definitely not how it should be.
