I'm going to be selling my polo gt engine and gear box out of my mk1 golf as i need to gather the funds for the resto build of the car, plus I've got a 16v 9a for it

its got a twin choke weber carb from a 1.6 mk2 golf and a GK inlet manifold with the adapter plate on it which are quite rare i here and in germany too ( which is where i got this one from )

when i bought the engine it had a full serivice including

cam belt

water pump

tennsioner

head gasket

sump gasket

and rocket gasket

with all new fluids and filters

the engine had coverd just over 100k when i bought it and I've only done maxium of 3k in the last 2 years

this is perfect for a mk1 golf or a mk1/mk2 polo it'll fit straight in with no worries

i also have the ignition controler module and wiring loom to go with it if you want it....

i am also considering splitting it up but would want buyers for all parts before i strip it out as it is still in the golf and getting used now and then, if a buyer wants the hole kip n cabodle and i will remove for you asap

yeh it is a GT box, I'm based in torbay deovon torquay area

i carnt take anyless than 200 matey as the carb and inlet are worth nearly that! i could meet you in taunton not a problem if you pay for fuel costs up front,

I've got someone interested in it off my local forum but hasnt got back in touch with me yet but seems pretty keen i'll let you know what the score is and see what we can sort if he carnt have it.....

hey mate yeh thats whaty i did its a really useful forum and polo engines are pretty bomb proof tbh lol

well matey has finaly got back to me and said he carnt have it has hes had a big dentist bill so its back up for sale, i'll pm you mate

What sort of power was this pushing out?

i got 74bhp on tsr's rollers, it wasnt running right at the time and has got a really restrictive exhuast to lol

Not bad at all! Id have this off you now to upgrade the excuse of an engine my 1ltr is but your further than down south! Far to far away! Now if you fancy a trip up north ill take it from you!

Are you sure it's a 5-speed gt 'box? Gearbox mount doesn't look like its been welded?

intrested in the engine if we can arrange delivery.my 1.3 bready has just shit the bed and warped the head so I'm thinking a gt engine would be a perfect replace ment
