New Momo steering wheel - Resistor issues (Air bag)

Featured Replies

Just fitted my momo steering wheel, after a few alterations, nothing ever straight forward, anyway the resistor that came with the boss kit - does not fit - ends to big, any ideas what I can do? I called Venom and was advised they only do this one resistor as one size fits all, no matter how hard I try this will not fit - any ideas welcome

Under the dash next to the steering column is a two pin plug/socket (white wire & yellow), they are the steering wheel airbag wires, disconnect it and just fit the resistor accross the two wires going away from the column.

We trimed down the 2 pin's to make them fit into the airbag jack/switch reconnected the battery but light was still on.. Plan B. I got in touch with a fellow audi owner who is a wonder with the old Vagcom so off we set to have the car scanned, logged.

Not fitting.... Also tried fitting this into a second connector half way down the steering colume. aaagggghhh.

My man Rhys giving the car the once over with Vagcom.

The scan showed that the resistor is not strong enought to stop the airbag light from coming on.. A phone call to Venom was placed and they are going to talk to Momo.. Not holding our breaths.. Rhys then set about logging the Polo to see if all was well with the Polo. Results to follow has he needs to analyze the logs after 3 runs

he will email us the results..

Any luck with this mate?? Have the same issue!!!! also my horn wont work with the wire on the OMP boss, and the indicators are cancelling correctly. not to mention the scraping noise! contenplating putting the bloody OEM back on! GRRR

Mine just stopped working once and couldn't get it to work again. Assume it's another fault

an old-ish thread, but reviving to reply with a previous experience.

I used a 2amp mini blade fuse. gives the resistance and will go pop if it received the current an airbag gets

Mine has a 1amp mini fuse IIRC, but it has a resistor in one of the wires which is barely noticeable
