Most of the cars shown can be picked up for less than £1000.

But then you have to shell out over double that to insure the car.

Nevermind that you have just spent another £1000 to get passed your test in order to drive.

And the daylight robbery for motoring doesn't stop there...depending on the car you can then be £60+ just to fill the tank and allow you to drive it for a week.

I feel so sorry for young driver these days. Was only 6 years ago I passed my test, but Christ it was so much cheaper to get myself on the road.

I think in total from buying my provisional to being OTR with a full licence and car I was £2000 and then when I first filled up it was only 79.9p per litre.

Lupo GTIs are expensive ass cars to buy too! I got my polo for 2k a decent lupos double that

Maybe but I think most are 1.6 diesels so the 1.6 would make it more expensive.

but being a commercial vehicle, only 2 seats, not likely to be stolen and being dog slown also go in its favour.

Its took me nearly 7 months to find insurance, i only hope to be driving by next moonth as I've got more money coming in. Effectively I've had my kecks down for 7 months, now I'm just lubing my ring. I would genuinely prefer to get the bus than pay vast amounts to insure a car i dont like or want, for the simple reason if i dont care about a car I'm far more likely to cane it everywhere and run over orhpanss and such.

last time i checked, (about march last year) cost me around £700 to insure my 1.3 webber'd mk2 'loon. Needless to say the Clio is going....

Just insured my 1.3 mk3 polo coupe for 2000!! Which is actually rather cheap, and being a 1.3. Got a quote from swinton who I've had several bike insurances with (however they don't award ncb) and they quoted me 6500 third party fire and theft!!!
