jheezzz there small mate.. i have 14x6's and they look small, so I'm selling them haha... maybe 12's would look a little small... but then again iv seen cars with 13's on and they look sweet.. if you want to then go for it mate :D will be an experience :D will have to have some seriousssss lows tho

questions are:

1. why?

2. would they fit of the brakes?

3. is it practical?

4. do you want to have EEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCC arch gap?

I doubt they'll fit over the brakes, what size tyre you planning on running?

Wont fit over brakes dude.

Depending on width, offset and the barell design could possibly space them enough to clear the breaks, but then may need to run some serios stretch and camber. Possibly coupled with arch mods to get them to fit properly.

Would have thought this would have adverse effects on handling also?? But on that last point i could possibly be wrong.

Won't clear the brakes.... won't look good... go get some 14's or 15's... job done.

Why would you want wheels that are so small?

standard one litre 6n brakes are 239mm just shy of ten inches, you will not fit the caliper in the remaining space.

you could modify struts caliper carriers and brakes to fit under 12's but for what? crap handling and crap looks. trust me 12's will look far too small due to the height of the car. could work on a mk1 but the same sort of issues arise.

as previously stated 14's or 15's are perfect IMO 15's are perfect .

13s are too small for a 6n - 12s are just wank tbh

Do it mate . Stick them on .. if we all listened to internet advice no fun cars would get built .. do it ride it and let us all know how you got on . Pro scate stance

I'm pretty sure someone fitted 12's to a Lupo once.. So it is possible.. Stop being a sheep and get it done. I'd like to see it!

doo it !!! sounds a good idea to me and will look sick ... have u seen that white mk3 golf thats running bright pink banded 13s? most people frown if you run any smaller that 16s on the mk3s but this guys a legend and his subframe hits the floor !! doo it!!

Small wheels are just as chavvy as big wheels. Its the same mentality of I want the smallest wheels like they want the biggest wheels. Proportionately 15/16s work best.

Just because they were £20 with tyres doesn't make them a good idea.

Smaller wheels = lower gearing, good for smoking others at traffic lights.

I say, why not? most 6n polo's are just shit now, they're practical but no longer new and not old enough to be retro, so stick whatever wheels on just to be cool.

Good for accelerating but once you've got the the speed you need to be you'll be doing more RPM than with more suitably sized wheels and therefore using more petrol.

I don't think they can be made cool with just a set of wheels and I would never call one retro.

I got a 6n and i dont think i would try puttin 12s on it... I got 15s.

And i agree, they arent retro. Never will be really...

Wheels have just been primered and spacers are on order :) so give me a couple of days to get them sprayed up and wait for the spacers to turm up then they will be on :) :)

lol, will be interested in seeing the results (even if they look gash, still post pics!)

Guys, that's what i said, they aren't retro. Maybe in a long time if they haven't rusted away.

But yeah i'll also be interested to see the results.

EDIT: basically what i'm getting at is that they are not a desirable car (unless done up correctly) so who cares? Go for it!

And yeah, 'heartagram' motorway driving would be even more unbearable, she'd be redlining at about 70! haha
