I thought they'd be a straight fit? 9j with 205/40/16, i know panda has 9j borbets on his with the same tyres but i dont know if hes had any arch work thinking about it, he said the borbets have never scrubbed on his car when he was selling them but that doesn't mean he hasnt had any work done. oh dear ha

His rear arches have had major work done on them mate.

You could fit 205's in, mine isn't too bad on 195's, I have lots of room on the inner so I could run a lot higher offset, however, you've got 9's banded, I assume only the outside banded so they will be low offset so pokey AND wide

I'm assuming he has banded them on the outside only ye, he never asked me how i wanted them. if the offsets wrong ill have to weld the face in a different position so the offsets right. hopefully all will be ok though finger crossed

Just got the wheels back and they look mint, i am really really pleased with them. its changed the look of the car completely. Bad point 1 rim leaking. Also harris the 205/40's are a struggle to get on you were right ha, I'm having to wait while tomorrow to get the rears fitted as it needs highering to get them in, other than that though all went well. ill get some pics up soon when I've got a good comera phone to use. jud

Haha, we just used a big shoe horn. I'm hoping its around 300bhp, I've got 2 friends who have their own rolling road aswell (1 each) so i could do with going and getting it checked cos its the most FAQ i get ha. Thanks for the comments mate apprecaite them. jud

The cars looking sick now mate. How strong are banded steels when it comes to big power like this? dont really know much about them and was just wondering with the power your running would the welds ever likely to break or anything like that?

Cheers mate. I'm not sure how strong the welds are mate, good question ha. They advertise as 100% safe though and i wouldn't think the welds are likely to fail either. Hopefully they won't anyway or ill be up sh it creek ha.

Left to do:

044 fuel pump fitted

Buy and fit Polished header tank

Buy and fit Polished shocker top caps or genuine VW ones

Polished battery cover

Relocate the washer bottle and fit the oil catch in its place

Fit the flamer kit lol (don't know why i bought one but should be a laugh)

Fit the chrome gas struts I've got

Fit the chrome upper strut brace

Get the 2.5"flexi welded in the exhaust

Fit the 6n2 stubby mirrors

6n2 steering wheel

Banded steels

Tyres

Smoothed sills)

White leather inserted into the centres of the front seats

Door cards re=trimmed in white leather

White leather inserted into the centres of the rear seats

Bonnet - smoothed washer jets and painted back white

Spare wheel well cut out and plated over so i can get my exhaust poking out of the middle

Rear bumper smoothed (towing eye and exhaust cut out)

Boost gauge to fill the gap in the three pod

Audi handles fitted

2 x passenger side Lupo Aero wiper arms and blades
