VR6 Turbo

Featured Replies

Perspex sunroof fitted today. Great Seal.........NOT. I've got money burning holes in my pockets now I've parked it up for a few week and saved the petrol money, what can i buy ha. Think i better save it for the manifold and re-map infact. My pictures won't show. Ill have to get more tomorrow. Wish these seats would hurry up and come.

One of my mates dad has them in his kit car stand by for a sore back and arse haha.. If you can get hold of something to pad it out or you will suffer.. They are good seats though only problem he found was they are not the best for holding you in place unless you have 5-6point harnesses but they look the part in a kit car :)..!!

Good progress

This should speed her up a bit, just bought this Garrett GT35R turbo. Dual Bearing. The a/r of the turbo is 70, so the spool time is quite quick, oil lubed and water cooled, the inlet of the turbo is polished which is an optional extra when buying from Garrett.

Just got kitted out with everything i need to make a fibreglass bonnet. Anybody want to buy one? £350 collected. they're not going to have any underside though they're just going to be basically a cover for the engine. I'm making a mould from my 6n bonnet so from the outside it will just look like a metal one but then fastening it down with bonnet pins to save the hastle of mounting a catch and stuff. Sounds easy in theory lol, ill put some pics up of the finished item when I've done one.

Crack on lad! Sort your wheels/tyres out

I might make some wide fibreglass front wings so i can get some proper tyres under them arches ha, Adaptormans coming tomorrow aswell to measure up for the turbo fitment. Cant wait lol

Had an hour on it today. Tryed taking turbo off, no chance its held on with bolts I've never seen in my life. Adaptorman obviously didn't want it falling off lol. So then thought id fit my windows, dropped a right bolock, no good, they don't fit might try and adapt them to fit because i like them. Its looking really sorry for its self now though.

Haha cheers mate, i quite like the racing look as well. i might end up with some racing tyres on the 9j rims but don't think i can pull 10's off easily. Should be bonkers fast when the new turbos bolted on ye. It can handle 600bhp if i max it out lol.

Your shell all seam welded mate?

Yeah obviously haha. No not really, I'm keeping it on road so its not possible as it would fail the M.O.T. Might do it one day if i turn it into a track car though. Think i need a cage next but its all extra weight lol.

No I've got a thing for 6n's mate, it was the first car i ever had so grew an obsession from there. I've had some nice stuff since but then had to go back to a polo again to try and rekindle my teen years ha. It would be nice in a cinquecento or something though lol.

Sean welding your shell would definately not make it fail an mot

Plenty of the mk2 and 3's like yoofs ad Andys are seam welded and they are fine on mots

Il be starting seam welding mine soon and also you got picture of you bonnet and the mould yet mate

What do you think to the seats? Have you sorted some padding out ;)

Okay mate. No i haven't got a camera phone and the bonnets at work. I pulled it out of the mould today though and its mint if i say so my self ha. I need to trim and sand it and then i can bring it home and take some pics of it. The fibreglass company down the road wanted £700 to build me 1. I have the mould now if anybody wants one making. £400

They're not bolted in yet mate so I've not tried them. I've sold one as well to my mate so I've only got 1 now ha. They're really narrow I'm going to struggle to fit in it i think. Next up I'm having a go at making a fibreglass tailgate.

what did you make the moulds from and could you pm me a quick sorta process so i get an idea of how you did it then that would be great

and looking good so far love the seat how much it set you back and if you plan to sell it cause it is too narrow let me know
