what did you make the moulds from and could you pm me a quick sorta process so i get an idea of how you did it then that would be great

I made the moulds from fibreglass mate. Then once you've pulled it off the original metal bonnet you just repeat the process on the mould. Ill PM you the video i watced to learn how to do it. Ill let you know if i sell the seat mate yeah. Heres some pics of the bonnet now I've got it home, all i need to do now is mount the 4 bonnet pins in each corner.

Just bought these perspex rear quarter windows, has anyone ever fitted any? I'm thinking ill need a propper windscreen company to come and bond them in for me? Is that correct?

Anybody want to buy my tailgate minus the spoiler? There will be holes that need filling where it came off but if your painting it it anyway its simple. It won't be until next week though, just wondering if theres any interest? £80

Just smashed one of my quater windows trying to get it out. Any tips? I used a stanley knife and it wasnt good enough, its a dolfin aswell. I got that inpatient and angry i tryed the old screw driver behind it and leevered it which inevitably ended up in it smashing ha. Round 2 tomorrow.

Flush bonded windows

Removing undamaged side window

‒ Remove side trim and B-pillar trim.

=> General body repairs, interior; Repair group 70; Trims; Removing and installing B-pillar trim

=> General body repairs, interior; Repair group 70; Trims; Removing and installing side trim (two-door Polo)

‒ Remove luggage compartment cover mounting and loosen upper C-pillar trim.

=> General body repairs, interior; Repair group 70; Trims; Removing and installing luggage compartment cover mounting

=> General body repairs, interior; Repair group 70; Trims; Removing and installing upper C-pillar trim

‒ Insert plastic wedge between sealing lip and window flange.

‒ Loosen sealing lip from window flange all round and spray in cleaning solution D 009 401 04 (as substitute for lubricant).

‒ → With help of handle -1- guide trimming needle -2- under sealing lip -3- and puncture through adhesive bead (use a side area).

The trimming needle must be guided as close as possible to the window.

‒ Unscrew handle and pass cutting thread through eye of needle.

‒ Pull cutting thread towards inside (use pliers and gloves).

‒ → Guide in cutting thread between lip and window flange with help of tube -1- (If the cutting thread should break, then cutting wire can also be used).

‒ If the gap is too small guide cutting thread on outside and press under the lip with a plastic wedge.

‒ Place cutting thread around the side window.

‒ → Secure outer end of thread on striker pin (apply strip of textile reinforced adhesive tape along route of thread).

‒ Secure inner end of thread on winding device

V.A.G 1654 and cut out window by moving the winding device as necessary.

‒ Press cutting thread against window glass with plastic wedge during cutting process, in order to have clearance at window flange.

Aha, cheers mate ill have a go with a cutting wire tomorrow.

Just ordered all my bends and flanges for my tubular manifold. Got this babi off the german ebay which was fun to find with all the german i needed to translate. Also got my tailgate off so it will be coming with me to work so that i can make fibreglass replica. Its all fun and games.

Just got the remaining window out in 1 piece. it took about an hour ha. New ones need bonding in now. Should be fun. Id get some pics but its dark now.

Pulled the mould off the metal tailgate today. Just need to make my fibreglass product from it. Rear windows are getting bonded in Thursday and ill be picking up all my bends and collector pipe for the manifold Friday from Sheffield. Some actual progress should get done and there may also be some pictures to follow one day next week.

Anybody want to buy the smooth bonnet and tailgate for £60? BARGAIN Tailgate wants painting though. ROTHERHAM

Made my fibreglass tailgate today. Just waiting for it to dry so i can crack it out of the mould and trim and sand it.

This has got to be one of the lightest 6n's around now.

Fibreglass tailgate not the best. It come out of the mould funny. Needs a bit of filler and a splash of paint to cover all the scars ha. Its certainly lighter than the metal one though lol.

Yeah I'm just going to buy 4 more bonnet pins and mount it that way. Its a bit scabby but should go well with the perspex windows, no interior and shit fibreglass seat haha. I'm going for out and out speed now not looks.

Its even rougher in person haha, should be okay with some filler though. Turbo should be on for January, February id say. The Christmas present fiasco is holding me back lol. On a better note, the window mans just been and fitted my rear quarter windows for me, I'm so glad i didn't have a go a doing them my self they would have looked a right bollock. Hes primed them black round the edges then fitted them so you can't see the glue. They look like glass ha. Ill get some pics up later.

you should of used chopped strand in round the window area then you wouldnt of got any air bubbles

It is chopped strand ha, their not air bubbles, its where the gel coats stuck to the resin. I must not have used enough release agent.

not chopped strand and in the fiberglass sheet as in the big tin that's like sprinkles

what release agent you using PVA or honey wax ????
