You could get the polo ones and get the ball joint adapted check my thread about my rear tcas as I used escort adjustable ones which have the thread like your polo ones but as I'm running ml1 golf hubs I needed a pinch bolt ball joint

So I made some adapters that screw onto the thread and taper and convert it to the pinch bolt type

I made mine from stainless but they may be better made from some en19t or en24t steel then heat treated for hardness and durability

I will probably make myself some more out of that material as I need to make some more for my front tcas too as il be using the same escort tcas on the front

Hope this helps

Absolutely fantastic idea. Cheers Pete BIG HELP. I would have never though of that. Would you be able to make me some if i payed you handsomely? Or say, sent you a fibreglass seat in return lol.

Right big thanks to Pete, hes on with making me some ball joint adapters which will convert them from threaded to pinch bolt type. They will look a little something like this just so you get how they work.

I also put my front and rear discs at the side of each other just to see the comparison.

Here's a pic of the ball joint all tightened up and sat in the hub. Still haven't got my fibreglass tailgate back yet from the paint shop. Getting desperate now as the steering wheels growing mould on it with it not having an air tight seal ha

Finally got them on and guess what, I've only gone and cross threaded the brake hose into the caliper. It only went a few thread then stopped and i though oh no. Took the caliper off and the first 2 threads are knackered. Unsure what to do now. A pic of them fitted though. They look bigger in person. That's what they all say lol.

Aha, nice, is there anything i should be worried about with it lol?

Nothing that I can remember mate had a new clutch and cable along with many parts had a replacement engine in 2010 ran brilliant when I had it...was fully under sealed might need doing again like..was painted by a lad in donny not the best but I was happy with it.

Right ok mate sound, I'm going to run it through the winter i think until the tax runs out.

Got my Porsche caliper re-tapped today and all is well. Also fitted the rear discs and pads on one side + a new bearing. The hose wasn't looking too good though and the handbrake lever needs a bit of freeing off so I've deiced to leave it stripped down and get some braided hoses for the rear. If its worth doing its worth doing right.

  • Author

Been down and bought a braided hose for the rear and fitted it, also Free-ed the handbrake off. There's only going to be the track rod ends that haven't been changed when I'm finished. Might be worth doing them. Couldn't be arsed to get pics you've all seen a set of discs and pads before. Ill get some when i bleed them all through. Where can i get some brembo fluid from?

I would get silicon brake fluid if you can aIt's expensive at about £35 a litre but well worth it as it never needs changing, doesn't absorb moisture and doesn't expand under high temperatures

That's what il be running in mine

  • Author

Right ok ill have a look for some of that now mate. Is that better than the Brembo lcf600+ then?

Not sure tbh mate it's an option though look into them both and see as that been I stuff may just be a glorified dot 5 brake fluid if you get me to basically rob your money

  • Author

Okay ill probably go with the silicone then ha, its got a higher temp rating.

Looking sweet! What you going to do about the wheels now there spaced 25mm? Can I ask how much this car owes you?

Tom.
