We should just get rid of the function all together, its useless and no one uses it.

It's a function thats built into the version of ipb we run, and not easily removed. The underlying reason it happens is that if you google something and a cp page is returned as a result, that gets displayed in the alternate display, because that's what google uses when it indexes the site.

But yeah, its a pain in the ring.
