Common fault on these or not? Luckily got one in the garage from an old gt that got broke so gonna replace it 2moro. Just wondering though if anyone else has had the same issue?

I've read before during discussions about fitting bigger rear wheel cylinders/disc brakes to non GT/G40s, the debate to bother fitting the compensator valve or not comes up and often the fact that they can leak is listed as a 'con'. So I'd say it's not unheard of, though I've no direct experience of it happening.

is there a way to bypass the 'orrible thing?

Hello everybody. I have the same leaking problem as you can see, on my 1982 Derby. Is there a way to repair it, or do i have to replace it?  If i have to replace, do you know its VAG number? I don't know its VAG number and have been searching for that part since 1 month but couldn't get any result.. I have only found that there are 3 "suitable" replacement parts: On the Ate's webcatalog, it says the part with the number "03.6584-0015.3" is suitable. TRW says "GPV1184".  And NK says "899915". All these 3 look the same, but not similar to mine. The problem is, if i have to replace with one of these, i have to adapt it onto the bracket on my car(since none of the holes will fit), also adapting its distance to the tension spring(since those versions' springs are different than mine), and adapting the in/outlet hoses too.. So, will it be a healthy solution, to adapt such things to fit an  Ate, TRW or NK into this position?

Or, should i use Mk1 Golf's regulator, which is the symmetric version of the regulator on my car.. But that sounds way more troublesome 

The car needs to pass from the TÜV in here, there are some more incomplete parts but for this situation i really don't know what to do, i need your opinions    Thanks all!
