I need some help boys, I lowered my car yesterday on coilovers ( they were on the car already but not really that low) and since I've been getting knocking sounds on the front wheel of the driver side.

I thought the wheel was rubbing so I flattened the lip of the wing to nearly flat but I'm still getting the those noises.

My mate said its the driver shaft and It will eventually wedge itself in but I just wanted to double check .. anyone had this exeperience before?

If I keep driving it as it is; is it gonna f*ck up the drive shaft?

Dont be negligent and just let itself bed in...thats what I done!!! Well not so much just thought 'I know il just let itself wedge in!' but more I always put off cutting a chassis notch and welding it up. Now my CV Joint is on its way out.

My opinion is seeing as youve dropped it that much, your tracking and camber is probs out, so go get that done and while your there get a c notch cut out of the chassis leg!

You'll be saving yourself a world of trouble!

How did long did you leave it for bro?

Yeah it'l be your drive shaft hitting the chassis.

Raise it 5 or 10mm for now until you get it notched.

if you leave it for a bit, it'll wear itself a mini notch.

Isn't there the possibility of it ruining or snapping the drive shaft though?

depends how lowered it is, if its only touching a bit i'd leave it, obviously, the lower the more pressure etc

mines rubbed enough away so it doesn't knock going left. i will be getting it notched in a few weeks tho.

Ahhh okay.

See mine only rubbed on it for 2 days until I raised it because it was looking pretty bad.

It made itself a mini notch but It was still rubbing.

Yeah I'll get mine done eventually when I get the money. I've raised it now although, I still get dings now and then but fuck it I don't think its gonna do much damage.

Hole saw + bravery.

so a no go with angle grinder?

Hole Saw, then weld plates inside the part you have cut out. Still passes an MOT that way and strengthens up the Chassis Leg rather than leaving it open :)

I know it doesnt look like its in right place, but the suspension arms were not attached etc!
